This organization helps those dealing with mental health and su***de grief. There are a number of people who are helping to make this farm a reality. A big thank you to Emily Smith sharing the story of Karla Smith, her childhood friend and namesake for this nonprofit organization. Karla Smith Behavior Health facility at the farm will open sometime in June. Everyone involved in making this happen are doing a tremendous service to the Metro East and entire St. Louis community. It's a 100th birthday celebration for Miles Davis in Alton, Illinois and East St. Louis, Illinois. Spent some time in both towns today connected by a trumpet. Got to walk in his footsteps and up the stairs to the home he practiced his instrument in as a teenager. I'm betting he stomped his way up those steps a time or two. Grafton Mayor Mike Morrow first told me about this awhile back but the renderings didn't do it justice.
