LCMS Life Ministry

This Hispanic Heritage Month we are excited to highlight the many LCMS Life Ministry resources that have been translated into Spanish. One such resource is the LCMS Life Ministry curriculum, “Looking at Life in the Womb”. You can access this and others by creating a free account at www.lcmslife.org, and selecting the “Spanish” tab.

As this Su***de Prevention Month comes to end, we want to share again that there are options if you or someone you know is struggling. You can reach out to your pastor or a pastor in your area. The Su***de and Crisis Lifeline can be reached 24/7 at 988, and in the case of an emergency, call 911 immediately. This article (https://thelc.ms/3XFuDyF) shares additional resources and education on su***de prevention.

Many laws that we have in our society today are dictated by unanimous or majority moral values: laws that prohibit stealing another’s property, legislation to protect people from physical or sexual abuse, laws that prohibit murder. Though this alone is not proof of universal truth, it certainly points to the fact that there are many truths that society can agree on as best for human flourishing. Given what we know about life beginning at conception, and given what we believe as a society that it is wrong to murder, outlawing abortion is certainly within the realm of civil authority and is therefore not an overreach of religion. One can and should, however, advocate for laws that reflect and uphold the laws that God has established for His creation. Such is the duty of all Christian citizens.
