💥 3 Fitness Myths I Wish People Would Stop Believing
There is so much fitness advice online that it’s hard to know what’s actually true.
Here are three myths I hear all the time as a personal trainer:
❌ Myth #1: You have to work out every day to see results.
✅ Reality: Most people make great progress with 3–4 quality workouts each week when they stay consistent.
⸻
❌ Myth #2: Lifting weights makes women bulky.
✅ Reality: Strength training helps build muscle, improve bone health, and create a lean, toned look. Significant muscle growth requires years of dedicated training and the right nutrition.
⸻
❌ Myth #3: If you aren’t sore, you didn’t have a good workout.
✅ Reality: Soreness isn’t the goal. Progress comes from consistently getting stronger, moving better, and recovering well—not from being unable to walk the next day.
Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated.
Focus on the fundamentals, stay consistent, and let time do the rest.

💪 Nick’s Fitness Minute
One of the questions I get asked all the time is:
Should you do cardio before or after lifting?
The answer might surprise you—it really depends on your goals.
In today’s video, I explain how I approach this with my clients and why there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer.
🎥 Watch the video below, and let me know…
Do you prefer cardio before lifting or after?

One of the biggest lessons I learned while losing over 100 pounds wasn’t finding the perfect workout.
It was realizing that consistency beats perfection.
Too many people think they have to be perfect to make progress.
They miss one workout…
Eat one unhealthy meal…
Then convince themselves they’ve failed.
That’s not how lasting change happens.
Real transformation comes from showing up, even when you don’t feel like it.
One workout.
One healthy meal.
One good decision at a time.
Those small choices changed my life, and they’re the same habits I help my clients build every day.
If you’ve ever found yourself saying, “I’ll start again on Monday,” I wrote a blog just for you.

What’s one healthy habit you’re committing to this week?
💪 Coach’s Corner: Why We Use Kettlebell Swings
The kettlebell swing is one of my favorite exercises because it trains multiple qualities at once.
When performed correctly, it can help:
✅ Build explosive hip power
✅ Strengthen the glutes, hamstrings, and core
✅ Improve conditioning and work capacity
One of the biggest misconceptions is that the kettlebell swing is a squat.
It’s actually a hip hinge. The power comes from driving your hips forward—not lifting the kettlebell with your arms.
When programmed appropriately, kettlebell swings can be a great addition for athletes, weekend warriors, and anyone looking to move better and build power.
Have you ever tried kettlebell swings? Let me know below!

💪 Why I Became a Personal Trainer
People sometimes ask me why I became a personal trainer.
The answer is pretty simple.
More than 10 years ago, I was the one who needed help. Losing over 100 pounds completely changed my life—not just physically, but mentally as well.
That journey taught me that fitness isn’t just about looking different. It’s about gaining confidence, improving your health, having more energy, and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you ever imagined.
That’s exactly why I started Kryptonian Muscle.
One of the best parts of this job is watching people become stronger, healthier, and more confident than they thought possible. Every client has a different goal, but being part of their journey is what makes this career so rewarding.
To everyone who has trusted me to be part of your fitness journey—thank you. I truly appreciate the opportunity to help you reach your goals.

💪 Coach’s Corner: 3 Core Exercises You’re Probably Not Doing
When most people think about core training, they think of crunches or sit-ups.
But your core does much more than that—it helps stabilize your spine, transfer force, and improve balance during everyday activities and strength training.
Here are three of my favorite exercises to build a stronger, more functional core:
✅ Bird Dog – Improves core stability, coordination, and spinal control.
✅ Cable Anti-Rotation Circles – Challenges your core to resist rotation while your arms move, helping improve stability and control.
✅ Farmer Carry – One of the best exercises for grip strength, posture, and total-body stability.
Focus on slow, controlled movement and quality reps rather than rushing through each exercise.
Which one have you tried before? Let me know in the comments!

💪 The strongest thing your kids will ever see isn’t what you tell them… it’s what you show them.
One of my favorite parts about coaching isn’t just helping clients lose weight, gain muscle, or get stronger.
It’s watching them become role models for the people who look up to them the most.
Over the last six weeks, Zach has:
✅ Lost 6 pounds
✅ Dropped 3% body fat
✅ Gained 1 pound of muscle
Those are great accomplishments.
But what stands out even more is seeing his son, Vito, spending time in the gym with him.
Kids are always watching.
When they see Mom or Dad making time to exercise, choosing healthy habits, and working toward their goals, those behaviors become normal. Those moments can shape the way they think about health and fitness for years to come.
That’s what this journey is really about.
Proud of you, Zach. Keep leading by example, and Vito will always have someone to look up to.
💪 If you’re ready to improve your health, build strength, or become a stronger role model for your family, I’d love to help.

Trainer tip of the day:
If you’re trying to lose fat, here’s one mistake I see almost every day…
Most people think they need to spend an hour on the treadmill.
You don’t.
A simple routine that works for most beginners is:
✅ Eat 25–35g of protein at each meal.
✅ Walk 8,000–10,000 steps per day.
✅ Strength train 3 times per week.
✅ Sleep at least 7 hours.
Do those four things consistently for 8–12 weeks before worrying about supplements or complicated diets.
Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated.
Question for everyone: What’s the biggest thing that’s holding you back from reaching your fitness goals right now?
I’d be happy to answer questions in the comments.
🎾 Move Better Wednesday: Lacrosse Ball Mobility
One of the most underrated recovery tools you can keep in your gym bag? A lacrosse ball.
Foam rollers are great, but they can't always reach the smaller muscles and those stubborn "tight spots." A lacrosse ball lets you apply more targeted pressure to areas that can become stiff from lifting, sitting, or everyday life.
In today's video, I'm demonstrating a few of my favorite areas to work on:
✅ Front shoulder (anterior deltoid)
✅ Side shoulder (lateral deltoid)
✅ Rear shoulder (posterior deltoid)
✅ Upper traps
✅ Piriformis/glutes
✅ Hip flexors
A few tips:
✔️ Roll slowly.
✔️ Pause on tender spots for 20–30 seconds while breathing normally.
✔️ Mild discomfort is okay—but sharp or radiating pain is not. If something doesn't feel right, stop.
Remember, mobility isn't about making yourself hurt—it's about helping your body move better so you can train better.
💪 Save this post for your next workout, and let me know which area feels the tightest!
