AMICSTL is honored to receive the Development of the Year Award at this year’s St. Louis Mayor’s Business Luncheon, sponsored by the St. Louis Development Corporation.
This recognition reflects the work of many partners who are helping bring AMICSTL to life – and the shared belief that advanced manufacturing can create meaningful opportunities for St. Louis, strengthen our regional economy, and support the workforce of the future.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AMICSTL relies on the support of partners who believe in building a stronger manufacturing ecosystem for our region. This award underscores what’s possible when industry, education, workforce, and community come together – and we’re excited to continue expanding the circle of organizations, manufacturers, and individuals who want to be part of what’s next.
Thank you to Mayor Cara Spencer, SLDC, and everyone involved in recognizing projects that are moving St. Louis forward. And special thanks to PARIC, Cobalt Construction Consulting, Fox Architects, Dovetail, The Daniel And Henry Co, the AMICSTL Board of Directors, and the small, but mighty AMICSTL team.
If you or your organization are interested in supporting AMICSTL’s mission – growing, connecting, and empowering the manufacturing industry right here in the St. Louis region – we’d love to connect.

Every manufacturing challenge has a starting point - a prototype that needs refinement, a production issue that keeps slowing things down, a workforce gap that’s getting harder to ignore, or a research idea that needs the right collaboration. Sometimes it’s simply a product with potential and no clear next step.
A complimentary consultation with AMICSTL can help you sort through that challenge and map out practical, realistic ways to move forward. Our work is a commitment to support manufacturers, founders, researchers, educators, and organizations exploring what’s possible in advanced manufacturing.
Bring the challenge. We’ll help you think through what comes next. Schedule here: https://www.amicstl.org/free-consultation

Thank you to The Boeing Company for hosting AMICSTL at today’s World Trade Center St. Louis Growing Global Luncheon. The discussion on expanding direct international flights into and out of St. Louis highlighted how global access fuels regional growth.
Manufacturing momentum in our region is powered by multimodal transportation – river, rail, highway, and increasingly by air.
Congratulations to the St. Louis County Port Authority on earning the Global Ambassador Award.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Future Makers: Advanced Manufacturing STEM Experience a meaningful opportunity for students from Hazelwood East Middle School and Rogers Middle School - Affton.
With support from Big Rocks Engineering and partners including Greater St. Louis Area Scouting, Project Manufacturing, Southwestern Illinois College, and Missouri University of Science and Technology, students had the chance to explore advanced manufacturing in a hands-on, approachable way.
Opportunities like this help young people connect classroom learning to real careers and begin to understand that manufacturing is not just something that happens somewhere else, but rather right here at home.

Manufacturing Dive takes a close look at AMICSTL’s work to strengthen the region’s manufacturing workforce pipeline and why that work matters right now.
The article highlights AMICSTL’s future facility, the Sheffield model that helped inspire it, and the workforce programming already underway through partnerships with schools, community organizations, manufacturers, training providers, and more.
One of the most important points: advanced manufacturing isn’t eliminating opportunity, it’s reshaping the skills people need to access it. That’s why building a modern, connected workforce pipeline is essential for the region’s long-term competitiveness.

The future of engineering and advanced manufacturing depends on what students are able to see, experience, and imagine early.
Dr. George Nnanna, Founding Director of the University of Missouri-St. Louis School of Engineering, shares how AMICSTL is helping bridge the gap between academia and industry, from connecting UMSL with local high schools to supporting scholarships and hands-on experiential learning opportunities for students.
When students can engage with engineering and advanced manufacturing before they enter the workforce, they gain a clearer view of the opportunities ahead, and our region gains a stronger foundation for long-term workforce development.
