Meeples for Peeples

A huge thank you to Meeples for Peeples for their incredibly generous donation to the Voices of Flat River Pride Community Center! 🎲🌈

Thanks to their support, our community game library has grown tremendously, giving our visitors even more opportunities to gather, play, laugh, and connect. From strategy games and party games to cooperative adventures and games perfect for groups, there is now something for everyone.

We are incredibly grateful to Meeples for Peoples for believing in our mission and helping us create a welcoming space where our community can come together around the table.

Today we dropped off our donation to the Alaska school districts.
We shipped (approximately) 124 games!! Total of 232 pounds worth of games across 6 large boxes and two heavy duty totes. Shipping cost was a whopping $825.05!!
These should be arriving in Alaska by the end of the month and then they will distribute the games across the state to several school districts, including the Aleutian Islands!
We are so honored that we are able to be a part of this and help them bring gaming into so many kids and their families lives!

Updates!

Our final donation count from Geekway to the West was nearly 800 games! 🤯

Unloading and sorting/organizing has understandably taken us a bit of time as we continue to fill applications as well. We're up to 4 shipped out this month and just received number 5!

When we receive an application we go through all of the donations and load up a shelf with options that meet the requested age range, game length, player number and demographic, and difficulty levels. Then we pack as many as we can into a box to ship off, usually ranging from 20 - 30 games based on physical size. (Sometimes 2 boxes based on need and proximity.)

This month we've shipped a box to a middle school in Ohio, a college library in MS, and a community center on the other side of MO, and dropped off 2 boxes (including some oversized games that are more difficult/costly to ship) of games to a grade school in North County totalling 111 games right back out into the community!

Now we're prepping for Pride St. Charles this weekend where we'll be raffling off 3 party game bundles and giving away over 100 games as prizes for Plinko! If you're in the area come by and see us!

We are thrilled to announce that we will have a booth this year at Pride St. Charles, stop by and play some Plinko, enter our raffle, maybe win a prize, Saturday June 20th from 11-5. We will not be taking game donations at the event, but we will have things to sell to raise funds. And cash/digital donations are welcome as well!

- Unloaded 15 more totes and 3 boxes today to the tune of 234 game units.

- Set aside 3 totes and a shelf of games to check for bits to send to Alaska from new and previous donations.

Also prepping for St. Charles Pride, get ready for more Plinko and game giveaways to help fund a pallet to the biggest state that's the most difficult to get things to!

Thank you everyone who supported us this year at Geekway to the West! We've been recuperating and calculating and we are blown away! Here's some preliminary numbers as we continue to take stock!

Meeples gave:
- Over $2000 dollars in raffle prizes!
- $820 in 50/50 cash between the vendor hall and trivia!
- 100+ games (and other prizes) via Plinko!

Meeples received:
- $7000 to help us get board games around the country!
- 42 totes (generously loaned to us by Geekway) of donated board games*!
- 20+ large boxes of donated board games*!

We've unpacked about 14 totes so far with 177 game 'units' counted (*some are puzzles...) ranging from Arkwright to Checkers to Mysterium, and including what appears to be one of the first Rubik's cubes?!

We literally couldn't do this without you, so thank you for all the love! Keep an eye out for more updates as we finish unpacking, and then immediately re-packing a whole bunch of, your generous gifts!
