𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬: Originally adopted back in 2018, everyone thought he’d found furever, but after 6 years in a home, sweet senior Dre found himself back at the shelter when his owner had to move 😭

The shelter is no place for a senior and Dre was struggling. Luckily for him, a 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼 stepped up, opened their home, and likely saved his life.

Since being in a home again (like EVERY senior deserves), his foster mom said he is the 𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙚𝙨𝙩 foster she’s ever had! Truly, 79lbs of pure love.

This handsome boy is Graham, a 2-year-old, 65–70 lb Pitty mix who is ready to leave his stray days behind and find his forever family! 🩵

Graham came to the St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center as a stray and unfortunately tested positive for heartworm. Thankfully, a foster hero stepped up, and Graham was able to complete his treatment in a loving home. His last injection was July 16, and now he’s 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗥! 🥳

🐾 WHERE ARE THEY NOW WEDNESDAY: BEATRICE (FKA SCOUT) 🐾

Today’s update is all about Beatrice, formerly known as Scout! ❤️ We absolutely love seeing our former rescue dogs thriving in their forever homes.

Here’s what her mom had to say about her: 🥹❤️

Two years ago, I brought home a timid, reactive, territorial girl who didn’t trust people easily, was scared of bigger dogs, had constant gut issues, and honestly struggled just being in the world sometimes. Daycare, dog parks, crowded places with other dogs… those things just weren’t an option for her.

And look at her now.

She is confident. Independent. And completely convinced she runs this household. 😂

She loves (most) dogs, goes to doggie daycare and the dog park, travels everywhere with me, and has been to the mountains, the lakes, CrossFit competitions, and pretty much every hike in Missouri. She LOVES car rides. She even became quite the little hunter… despite her mother strongly advising against it. 🫠🫣

She welcomed my first foster dog into our home with open arms and has been the absolute best big sister to her little brother Dutton — who I swear she actually trained and raised.

She still starts every morning by howling until I take her on her mile walk, where she gets to choose the path. She still loves to run full speed and jump straight into my arms at least once a day, followed by her little twirl. And at night, she hogs the entire queen bed like the queen she is.

But no matter how confident and independent she’s become, the one place she truly relaxes is in Mommy’s lap.

And selfishly, I’m completely okay with that. 🥹

Beatrice was supposed to be euthanized because of overcrowding and the stress of the shelter environment. She didn’t need to be “fixed.” She needed someone willing to give her love, time, and patience.

And somehow, in giving her those things, she taught me all three in ways I never could have imagined.

She’s my soul dog. My best friend. My girl.

Two years ago, I thought I was rescuing her.

Turns out, we rescued each other. 🤍

Happy two years, Beatrice. My life is so much better because you’re in it.

All other dogs off stray hold currently have found placement except Jojo. His hold time is up today and needs placement by THIS Thursday!!

Jojo ($410 in pledges so far but will accept more to help find rescue!) is around 4-5 years old. He is a big, chunky fella around 75 pounds. He is a big dope of a boy. Likes to reverse his big ol b***y right up to you for butt scratches! 😆 He is GREAT with other dogs. See video in comments.

Edited to add about pledges: pledges is money that is pledged to whatever licensed rescue or shelter is able to take in the dog. No money at all ever comes to the city or to animal control. The money is not donated or given to anyone until that dog goes to a rescue. Once the dog is taken in by a LICENSED rescue or shelter, the people who have pledged money will be notified so that they can donate the money to that licensed rescue or Shelter.
