We are not experts or sales reps. We are simply caregivers who believe no one battling ALS should start at ground zero. (Sponsored by ALSCaregivers LLC)

Instead, they should build on a foundation of learning shared by current and former ALS caregivers.

ALS & Marriage: Navigating ALS as a Couple
Mon, May 18 • 3:00pm - 4:00pm EDT

RSVP Link: https://app.als.community/events/als-marriage-navigating-als-as-a-couple

An ALS diagnosis reshapes many aspects of life — including marriage. As roles shift and care needs increase, couples often find themselves balancing the identities of spouse, partner, caregiver, and care recipient. These transitions can be tender, complex, and at times overwhelming.
This webinar is designed for couples navigating ALS together and will feature the Broadhackers, a married couple living with ALS and caregiving. Michael is a Veteran living with ALS and his wife, Janet, is his main caregiver. They will share personal insight into how illness has impacted their relationship, identity, and partnership. Through both lived experience and guided discussion, we will explore how to differentiate caregiving tasks from the marital relationship — and why protecting the role of “spouse” matters.
Together, we will reflect on what “in sickness and in health” truly means in the context of progressive illness. Topics will include shifting dynamics, communication during times of stress, maintaining connection and intimacy, honoring autonomy, and tending to the emotional well-being of both partners.
This session offers practical tools, compassionate perspective, and space for honest conversation. Whether you are newly adjusting to a diagnosis or further along in the journey, you will leave with language, insight, and encouragement for sustaining your relationship while navigating change.
Join us to explore how love, commitment, and partnership can evolve — and endure — in the face of ALS.

As an ALS caregiver, consider joining for "my ALS Story" This Friday, May 1 at 3pm EDT. https://www.facebook.com/share/1CgvzKLQDU/

"My ALS Story" is a series hosted by https://app.als.community designed to highlight the deeply personal journeys that shape the ALS community.

In this chapter of My ALS Story, Kendra Womack will share with us about her experience as a caregiver, caring for her mother, Elaine Womack.

In her story, Kendra shares how caring for a loved one with ALS changes a person “from the inside out,” deepening compassion and strengthening a commitment to helping others facing the same journey.

Kendra will explore how caregiving became both a challenge and a calling. Her perspective speaks directly to caregivers, patients, and families who often feel unseen while navigating the realities of ALS.
