Lutheran Development Group is proud to be a recipient of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Impact Fund Award through partnership with Southern Bank. This award will invest $10,000 into Dutchtown and support the creation of more affordable housing.

Yesterday we broke ground on the Bates Street Apartments! 📣📣

This new 7-unit apartment building will provide a welcoming home for recently arrived refugee and New American families as they start their lives in St. Louis and set down roots in our community.

“Love thy neighbor” is a call to serve the people around us. These homes on Bates Street are one way LDG is living out that calling here in St. Louis.

Starting this week!
The St. Louis City Parks & Recreation Division and New Dimensions Soccer are running the fall league again, and Marquette Park is the practice home for our corner of the South Side. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 PM. Games are Saturdays at recreation centers across the city, so players get out to fields beyond their own neighborhood.
Open to kids ages 5 and up. Uniform is included, and you sign up through your recreation center — scan the QR code on the picture, visit https://stlcityrec.recdesk.com/, or just stop by practice and flag a coach!

Fall soccer is back at Marquette Park! Kids who can walk to practice get to play more! That is the whole point of a city-wide rec league, and it is why having this one in Dutchtown matters to us!

📣 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Dutchtown Main Streets is looking for volunteers to lend a hand with our neighborhood vacancy reduction work! On Saturday, August 22, we’ll be cleaning out 3135 Osage, a vacant multifamily property that we’re working to transition to a developer for renovation.

Before the property can move forward toward renovation, we need some extra hands to help clear it out and get it ready for its next chapter.

Available volunteer shifts are:

• 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

• 1:00–5:00 p.m.

• Or, join us for the full day from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

We’ll provide protective gear and refreshments for volunteers. Volunteers will also be asked to sign a waiver before beginning work.

This Friday there will be a neighborhood clean-up led by the City of St. Louis. There will be an extra presence from Forestry, Streets, Refuse, Parks, Towing, and Building Divisions around the neighborhood.
You can join this Friday afternoon at 3pm at Marquette Park at Minnesota and Gasconade to help with the clean-up!

UPDATE: the community cleanup will now begin at 2pm!

City of St. Louis Government departments are honing in on Dutchtown this week! Coordinated by the Neighborhood Stabilization Division and the Mayor's Office, we'll see an extra presence from Forestry, Streets, Refuse, Parks, Towing, and Building Divisions around the neighborhood.

You can pitch in by joining City staff this Friday afternoon for a neighborhood cleanup embarking from Marquette Park at Minnesota and Gasconade at 2pm. Thanks to our City workers and departments for this effort!
