De Smet Jesuit High School has welcomed Missy, a professionally-trained facility dog from Duo Dogs, a St. Louis based non profit organization.

We added three more cards to our wall of active Duo Assistance and Facility Dogs last week, as more dogs from The River's Litter were placed.
Duo Dog Francis is now working with LEAN STL - Laborers Escaping Adversity Now, helping St. Louis-area union laborers navigate behavioral and mental health challenges, with a special focus on supporting those in recovery from addiction.
Duo Dog Missy is now working at De Smet Jesuit High School to support the school’s inclusive education initiatives. Missy will work alongside her handling team to help foster an even more welcoming and supportive environment for students.
Last, but certainly not least, Duo Dog Mac was placed as a Mobility Assistance Dog with a successor client, Janet B. (not pictured).
Each of these placements represents thousands of dedicated volunteer and training hours and a $50,000 investment made by Duo. This cost was not passed on to the client or handling teams thanks to support from donors like Three Rivers Kennel Club.

For veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder, an Assistance Dog can be a steady source of support, helping create greater confidence, connection, and independence in everyday life.

Duo PTSD Assistance Dogs are specially trained to perform tasks that help their veteran partners navigate challenges and regain a greater sense of control in their daily lives. This program is exclusively available to veterans living within 120 miles of Duo Dogs in St. Louis. This local placement allows our team to provide the ongoing support that is an essential part of every Duo Assistance Dog partnership.

Duo invests approximately $50,000 over two years to breed, raise, train, place, and support each Assistance Dog. This cost is never passed on to the client. Your support makes these life-changing partnerships possible. Donate or volunteer today.
