Her foster also learned that Purple Potato can be destructive when left alone, so she will likely do best with someone who is home more often or who can safely crate her when they have to leave.

💔 The shelter environment is incredibly stressful for Purple Potato, and she cannot continue to sit in a kennel.

After more than two months in a shelter, Myles’ stress is escalating. When he comes out of his kennel, he becomes extremely aroused and fixates on biting the leash. It has progressed to the point where staff are concerned about the possibility of an accidental bite to the person handling him.

Imagine being 𝟕 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝, having a family, a home, a routine… and then one day, they leave you behind.🥺

That is Xena💔 Sadly, her family surrendered her to the shelter. And she wasn’t the first they had done this too. 😞 and now for almost 𝐒𝐈𝐗 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇𝐒, Xena has been waiting in a shelter kennel.😢

Six months of watching people walk past.
Six months of wondering if someone is coming back for her.
Six months without a couch, a home, or someone to tell her, “You’re safe. You’re staying.” 💔

And now she’s starting to give up.

But Xena is still in there. ❤️

Myles came into the shelter as a stray, 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐲, 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 and probably wondering where his family was.🥺

He has 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝟓 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 since arriving…

After more than two months in a shelter, Myles’ stress is escalating. When he comes out of his kennel, he becomes extremely aroused and fixates on biting the leash. It has progressed to the point where staff are concerned about the possibility of an accidental bite to the person handling him.

𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄’𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓.

Once Myles gets away from the kennel environment and starts walking, he begins to settle.❤️

Wrinkles does have a Level 2 bite on record after a volunteer attempted to take a toy from him. That means his future person needs to understand resource guarding and be willing to manage it responsibly.

That information matters. But so does the fact that shelter behavior and behavior in a home can be very different things, especially when a dog has been confined and stressed for months.

What Wrinkles needs now is simple:
