MEET CONNOR COMBS!
We’re excited to introduce one of the newest addition to the Ignite Performance & Health team, Connor Combs, Certified Personal Trainer.
Connor is a Parkway West graduate and former Division 1 football player, so competition, discipline, and hard work aren’t new to him. But what makes his story especially unique is that Connor has lost over 100 pounds himself, giving him firsthand experience with the challenges and rewards of making a major transformation.
When he’s not training clients, you can probably find Connor on the StairMaster or doing cardio. Needless to say, he’s not afraid to put in the work!
He’ll push you when you can’t push yourself and help you keep moving toward your goals!
We’re excited to have Connor bringing his experience, energy, and passion for fitness to Ignite!
Welcome to the team, Connor!
It’s all fun and games until the trainers disagree….
Disclaimer: we’re actually really nice and fun to work with 😂

Ignite Performance and Health Podcast What is Ignite Performance and Health? Why are we here and what do ...
We’re starting a podcast!
We’ve been talking about doing this for a while, and we’re finally making it happen.
The Ignite Performance & Health Podcast will be on YouTube, and we’ll be sharing clips here on social media.
This is a clip from our first episode where Derek talks about why he brought Shannon McMillan on as our Head Trainer and how that fits into the bigger picture of what we’re building at Ignite.
We’re going to use the podcast to talk about why we do what we do, answer some of the questions we hear all the time, talk training, nutrition, health, hormones, weight loss and more. We’ll also bring in some different guests along the way.
We want to give you a better look at what goes on behind the scenes and, more importantly, help you understand how all of the pieces at Ignite work together.
This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to keep bringing you more. Follow along and let us know what you want us to talk about!

Team Training Day at Ignite!
Friday was all about learning, growing, and making sure our team is prepared to take the best possible care of our clients.
A BIG thank you to Matt Coppin from Metro West Fire for spending an hour with our team covering Stop the Bleed, CPR, AED training, and answering all of our questions. These are skills we hope we never have to use, but we’re grateful to be prepared if the need ever arises.
Another big thank you to The Active Pharm, one of our valued local partners, for coming in and providing our team with an educational session.
We’re always looking for ways to continue learning and improving and Friday was a great day for the Ignite team!
Your trainer is not the enemy, we swear.
We love to challenge you so you can continue working towards your goals. All evil laughs aside 😉
Carbs aren’t the enemy!
They’re fuel. Want to lift heavy things? Train hard? Have energy throughout the day?
Carbs provide that fuel to keep you moving! Don’t fear the carbs. Start using them strategically.
And they manage to work together on the daily…
We stopped by SubZero Wellness Chesterfield last week to learn more about all the wellness modalities they offer. Derek and Stephanie got to try out the Whole Body Cryotherapy and oh was it a frigid time!
It can decrease inflammation, it can help with exercise recovery and it’s been shown to improve mood and reduce stress.
But don’t just watch us take the “cold plunge”…give it a try yourself!
Look, we’re just doing our part to keep you entertained during your workout…
