“Santa’s Speedo”

A loose riff on the Pornstar Martini, made with Żubrówka Bison Grass Vodka, pandan, coconut, pineapple, aloe and orgeat.

The pandan is doing some particularly delicious work here, bringing a sweet, almost dessert-like quality to the whole operation, while pineapple and coconut keep things firmly planted in Tiki Town.

A little weird. A little lush. Very easy to like.

Only a few more days to enjoy this one, and all of our “X Marks the Spot” libations. Our tiki pop-up wraps this Saturday, September 26.

The tiki gods giveth. The calendar taketh away. We have officially entered the OH GOD, IT’S ALMOST OVER portion of “X Marks the Spot.”

Our team has put their hearts and souls into bringing this pop-up to life, so if you haven’t been in to tiki town yet, we hope you’ll come in and enjoy the fruits of their very tropical labor.

This one has been on special for a couple weeks now, but it deserves its moment because Dolly deserves hers.

A champion for childhood literacy.
A heart as big as her hair.
Dolly made the world a little brighter.

We lost a good one. Come on in to toast her with us. To Dolly - may we all leave things a little better than we found them.

One week in and “Ocean Foam” has already become a fast favorite in tiki town.

And tbh, we’re fan girl-ing as much as you. The dramatic layer of foam? Acidulated blue curaçao, charged in a very science-y looking iSi siphon. The result is a thick, citrusy foam that changes the drink as you sip your way through it.

Come for the drink. Stay because it’s delicious. Poke the foam at least once because you are only human.

Vandy news bulletin: we installed a brand new bar-height counter that runs along the far wall!

The carpenters were here just a couple of days ago and she’s still a work in progress, but and we’ve wasted no time putting it to work.

More places to pull up a seat or stand and a little more energy throughout the space.

Just in time to get the full “X Marks the Spot” treatment. 🌴🍹

The “Halekulani” has been doing tropical bourbon since the 1930s. We see no reason to argue with nearly 100 years of good judgment.

The cocktail takes its name from the Halekulani Hotel on Waikīkī Beach, where it originated at the hotel’s “House Without a Key” lounge in the 1930s. The classic recipe pairs bourbon with lemon, orange, pineapple, Demerara, grenadine and Angostura.

Parker describes it more succinctly: a beach wh***ey sour.

Bright citrus and tropical fruit meet the warmth and spice of bourbon, served over pebble ice and properly accessorized with nutmeg, an orchid and a tiny umbrella.

Nearly a century later, it still holds up.

A very happy birthday to our Beverage Director, Parker. 💞

Parker puts an enormous amount of thought, creativity, and care into what ends up in your glass. Lately, a whole lot of that brainpower has been going toward X Marks the Spot.

They and Emma have been working overtime behind the scenes to get this year’s tropical takeover off the ground, and we’re very, very lucky to have them both.

But today, especially: cheers to Parker. We appreciate the hell out of you. 🍹
