Rohan Woods School, where Leadership and Academics meet, is small--by mission--just one class per age or grade level. With an 8:1 student/teacher ratio, faculty is able to focus on personalized instruction and project learning to ensure students positively embrace our challenging curriculum for future success; develop a love of learning and practice the skills to problem solve. Each adult connected with the school community serves as a passionate conduit for teaching and discovering the qualities of a leader in each student. All of this; blended with project learning, Science, Technology and team development, help each child move from our Early Childhood program, through our elementary and middle school to be a successful and engaged student in secondary school.
One of our favorite days of the year! 🚒❤️
A huge thank you to the City of Glendale Fire Department for spending time with our students, talking about fire safety, and helping us practice our school fire drill.
Our firefighters do such a wonderful job with the kids. They even put on their full gear so our younger students can see what a firefighter looks and sounds like in an emergency and learn not to be afraid.
A few important reminders our students learned:
🔥 Don’t charge devices on soft surfaces like beds, carpet, or stuffed animals.
🔥 Make sure your family has a fire safety plan and knows what to do in an emergency.
🔥 Check your smoke detectors and change the batteries regularly.
We are so grateful to the City of Glendale Fire Department for the time they spend teaching our students and helping keep our community safe. We look forward to this visit every year!
How does it feel?
Soft. Cold. Rainbows. And very crushable. 🌈
Our preschoolers are exploring the sense of touch, using their hands, their words and a whole lot of curiosity to investigate the world around them.

Our middle schoolers are deep into experiential science at the Huntsman Marine Science Centre on the Bay of Fundy, and the learning has been remarkable. Students have collected real field data on invasive green crabs, explored intertidal sediment for marine worms, and helped dredge the bay floor for echinoderms during a hands-on boat excursion.
A whale-watching trip brought sightings of humpback whales and two species of sea lions, and crew members praised our students’ curiosity and respectful representation of Rohan Woods.
Coming up: an echinoderm lab on body structure and adaptation, a seabird dissection examining plastic pollution, and a visit to Huntsman’s aquarium to see marine life up close after observing it in the wild.
This trip builds scientific literacy, confidence, and real-world curiosity, exactly what we hope for our students. 🌊🦀🐋
Morning one at Huntsman Marine Science Centre, and Mr. Lang started the day right. Guitar in hand, our middle schoolers bundled up against the Bay of Fundy chill, all singing together: “Hello there, how are, it’s so sad to miss you. But we’ll sing and be happy cuz we’ll sing together again next week.” Not a bad way to kick off a big adventure. 🎶🌊
