Long before most St. Louisans could put a face to the name, they'd heard Ron Himes' voice — on camera, behind a microphone, lending the kind of presence and credibility that comes from someone who has spent a lifetime commanding a room. For 40 years, Ron has been part of the TalentPlus roster, booking on-camera and voice-over work and bringing the same discipline and craft to a :30 spot that he brings to a mainstage production. You can see Ron in "Soul on Fire," the feature film of John O'Leary's story of healing, hope, and heart — shot in St. Louis and released by Sony Pictures.

A Career Built on Range

Ron's day job — Founder and Producing Director of the St. Louis Black Repertory Company — has made him one of the most recognized figures in American theater, with more than 200 productions to his name. But working actors know that range matters, and Ron has always understood that the same instincts that serve him on stage — timing, authenticity, the ability to make an audience believe what they're hearing — are exactly what a client needs behind a camera or a mic.

We are proud to spotlight Ron Himes not just as a celebrated director, but as one of our own — a professional talent who has represented this agency well. We have watched each other's company evolve, and we are grateful for the loyalty and longevity.

Our Chefs are part of the experience on the moving train — bringing the Polar Express story to life, dancing along to the Hot Chocolate Song, serving hot chocolate and cookies, leading passengers in Christmas carols and helping create the excitement all the way to the North Pole and back. ❄️🎄

That’s exactly what’s happening in Rantoul, Illinois — and it’s a pretty remarkable example of what can happen when a state creates the right environment for film and television production to grow.

Flyover Film Studios is transforming the former Chanute Air Force Base into a production campus with massive soundstages, production offices, wardrobe, standing sets and more.

And the really interesting part? The impact doesn’t stop at the studio.

More productions mean more work for area talent and crews — and more business for hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, rental houses, caterers and countless other businesses.

That’s something we pay close attention to at TalentPlus. For nearly five decades, we’ve watched productions create opportunities for talent throughout Missouri and Illinois, and we’ve seen how much a thriving production community can mean to the people who live here.

Strong incentives can do more than attract a production for a few days. They can help build the infrastructure for an industry to stay.
