ATL - please help me find this young man.

I had already tipped my Uber Eats driver when I placed my order. But what he did AFTER delivering my food had absolutely nothing to do with Uber Eats.

He noticed.

He noticed that I did not respond when he rang the doorbell. He waited.

He noticed the big box sitting outside.

And when I explained that I was recovering from surgery and couldn't lift it, he simply offered to bring it inside for me.

I told him I was going to give him a BIGGER tip.

And then Uber Eats wouldn't let me increase my tip. I even tried Uber support. 😖

So now I need my to do what y'all do: please help me find him.

Because here's what I learned: kindness isn't always about making some grand gesture. Sometimes kindness is having a heart that notices the details.

It's seeing something that isn't your responsibility and saying, I can help with that.

And the best thing I can do now is honor my word.

Sir, wherever you are, I meant what I said. I owe you a bigger tip. ❗️💯❗️💯❗️💯

But more importantly, I want you to know that your kindness mattered to me.

May every bit of kindness you put into this world find its way back to you multiplied. May your dreams come true, and may life shower you with so many unexpected gifts, opportunities, surprises and blessings that you don't have room to receive them all.

Now ATLANTA...please help me find this good human so I can honor my word! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I Was Just Trying to Live My Life… Then Life Happened.

I want to share what happened, what I’ve learned about appendicitis, emergency surgery and recovery. But most importantly, I want to say thank you to the many people who have loved on me through all of it: my close and extended family, my close and extended circle of friends, my coworkers, my Mac-O-licious friends, my Motherland Connect/Coming to Africa family, my social media friends, and even complete strangers.

Between losing my mom, then my dad, and now going through this very difficult experience, I don't think I fully realized just how many people cared about me. The calls, texts, DMs and countless expressions of kindness have made me deeply emotional. 😍😭😍😭😍😭

Whether 1 person views or 50, I want this message to exist for the next person facing a ruptured appendix, or the person who was JUST getting past their pain… and here comes life again.

When my father passed away, I sent a text to the people closest to me letting them know. I ended the text with “I don’t want to talk.”

And I meant it.

I also had absolutely no intention of speaking at his memorial. I wanted to sit there and gasp for air while others spoke. 💯

But then I went into my father’s basement.

What I found there changed that.

I realized there were parts of my father’s story I had NO knowledge of, and a legacy that deserved to be spoken out loud. So I decided to use my voice.

I hope sharing his story inspires some young person to dream bigger, push beyond the doors that may not have been designed to open for them.

And, understand that greatness is possible. 🙏🏽

My path looks very different after this discovery.

One of the last things he told me was, “Go live your life.”

Daddy, I am.

I intend to live it fully, authentically, and with purpose.

Sometimes you just have to ask for help… especially when a hot flash has you searching for every cold inch of the bed.

Maybe I really do need to stay single for now.
