I wonder how much we could pay down the national debt for the price of a war. Reported at 1 billion per day. We need to pay debt off not keep adding to it. But who really cares what my opinion is? I just care about our country and what we will be leaving to future generations.

Attending the Stuart Heritage Musem event with guest speaker Vicki Davis the supervisor of elections for Martin County. She explained on the security and process of counting the election votes in Martin County. The take away was only 29% if all voters participated in the primary election. Lesson is “VOTE” for the government you want!

Vince "Trapper" Nelson was born Vincent Natulkiewicz and was an American trapper, hunter and zoo founder. Though he was born in New Jersey, and lived in Mexico and Texas, Nelson is best known for establishing a homestead-turned-zoo on the shore of Florida's Loxahatchee River. Filled with exotic and wild animals, his zoo was a popular tourist spot in the 1940s and 1950s, visited by local and national celebrities. Because of this, he became known locally as "Tarzan of the Loxahatchee". The zoo was eventually shut down by state health inspectors in 1960. After his zoo was closed, Nelson became a hermit and suffered from undiagnosed health problems. In 1968, he was found dead from a gunshot wound in his cabin by a friend. His death was ruled self-inflicted. Nelson's campsite is now known as the Trapper Nelson Zoo Historic District in Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Hobe Sound, Florida. #trappernelson #jonathandickinsonstatepark #floridaparks #floridahistory 09/06/2026

The last of old Florida on what is now a state park is being systematically dismantled by cutting of funds. Folks if they don’t get it one way, they will another.

Stopped by the mooring field in Manatee Pocket and this is the off season. Look at the parking spaces and a guy I met living on a boat on a mooring told me the dock master told him no problem staying longer than the time requirement rule. “We are not supposed to let you but “no problem”. Guess the county does not have to follow it own rules, as usual. Guess they need to try and recover the loss of investment. 6 maybe 8 parking spaces for cars and over 34 mooring balls. One guy had a car and two small tenders tied to the dingy dock. Cheap parking of boats and car in the pocket for $400 per month! This included shower facilities and trash removal. Oh yes, they do not pay property taxes as well.
