I’m not gonna sit here and act like I know everything about lighting because I absolutely do not. I’m still learning every single time I shoot. Especially from other photographers around me.
And honestly, lighting can be intimidating. There’s so much to learn and sometimes you don’t even know what questions to ask.
That’s actually a huge reason I want to start teaching more.
So if you’re a local photographer and you’ve been wanting to understand lighting better, please ask me questions. Seriously. You’re not bothering me and there are no stupid questions.
Come to a class. Come into the studio. Move lights around. Try things. Get it wrong and try it again.
I’m still learning too. I just want to create a space where we can all get better together. I will also be hosting other experienced photogs I look up to, to learn from myself which I’m very excited for!

If you asked me why I do this, I’d say because I genuinely love women.
I love photographing the s**t women are usually told to clean up first. The sexuality that isn’t for anyone else. The masculine side. The aging body. The belly. The scars. The rage.
I want to make work that gives all of that somewhere to exist.
Because if enough of us stop asking permission, we don’t just change the pictures.
We change how women get to show up.

I’m done.
