Let the kids run wild, dress as you please, & you’ll see how the ordinary moments are actually the very thing worth remembering.

It doesn’t need to look like matching outfits, Pinterest boards, or bribing children (& dad, lol) into cooperation.

Your mundane, everyday is worth romanticizing & remembering.

Don’t get me wrong—there’s a place for the family outfit coordination & posed frames, but you won’t always be in the season that you’re in now, & to me, that’s the whole point of portraits.

sunrise maternity portraits before a sweet baby girl arrives this month

I don’t have a favorite type of shoot, but if I did, it might be maternity ✨ (I’m a lil obsessed with that pregnancy glow, even more so when it’s my past bride becoming a mama)

Heading to a cozy newborn session this morning & thinking about last week with perfect April girl (& her protective pup brothers) 🌞

On extra special occasions, I’ll come out of “wedding retirement” for the day. This weekend we added a sweet sister to the family & the focus was all on what mattered and none on what didn’t—just as it should be. These low-key wedding days are so special to be a part of—I’m stoked to capture a few intimate backyard weddings & elopements this year.

Merry Christmas to you & yours! 🫶🏼 2025 was a big one for our crew. Braden spent nearly every weekend of the year learning to DIY build a guest house / studio in our backyard. Our Ray Lou turned 1 & her joy is contagious in the best way. We found out a babe was on the way in January & squeezed in a couple surf trips while bb was in utero. Stevie girl joined in September + we are living our best girl gang life (plus dad) 💕 I made it through my first busy work season as a mom of 2 thanks to the best family support & the sweetest clients who partook in August mini sessions.😅 Bray finished the house so we can have him back on the weekends in 2026🥹Countless blessings and even in the hard moments, God was so kind & the reason there’s much to celebrate today & always!

Whether sunrise or sunset, here’s a few things to consider if you’re dreaming of a golden hour sesh🌞✨

🌦️Be flexible—Golden hour doesn’t happen everyday. If this light is a priority to you, know there’s a chance we’ll need to postpone if the weather doesn’t cooperate day-of. As your photographer, good light is always my preference, so I purposefully keep space between bookings to have plenty of backup dates to choose from. But of course, if your session falls on an overcast day, but you’re committed to the date, we can still make so much magic together!

🌻If you plan on using vendors like makeup-artists, hair stylists, or florists the day of your session, ask them in advance what their postponement policy is, incase we do need to choose a later, sunnier date.

✨There’s only one other species that loves golden hour more than photographers…mosquitoes (& noseeums)! Pack your bug spray or your lemongrass oil to survive this buggy time of day. I promise that this light is well worth the swarms of bugs we may encounter!

🌅Golden light diffuses best in wide open spaces like the beach or river. If you want the golden hour vibe but prefer a location with more shade, like a garden, forest, or downtown area, plan to shoot earlier in the evening while the sun is shining well above the surrounding structures.

🌞Catching this dreamy time of day is always worth the ever shifting variables. I’ll never grow tired of this light + am stoked to create in the golden sunshine with you!

When mom & dad have been RV traveling for the last 4 years & now you get to join their adventures! 🚐🌞 What a life baby Henry will have exploring all around in his family home on wheels. I had the honor of documenting this sweet couples wedding day years back & now their first days as they settle into life as 3. And can you believe this thoughtful nursery they’ve set up for baby boy? I left this session feeling so inspired by these 3!
