Sun Prairie Public Library

We're so excited for Outdoor Storytime, however, due to unforeseen circumstances and the possibility of rain, we have to cancel on Wednesday, September 30. As long as the weather is in our favor we hope to see you outside on October 14, 21, and 28.

Outdoor Storytime takes place at the Kind Stage & Amphitheater, weather allowing. It is geared for ages 0-5 but all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend! Outdoor Storytimes are 30-35 minutes long and are filled with active songs and stories. Participation is encouraged! These Storytimes are weather dependent, and may be cancelled if there is inclement weather.

Join us in two weeks, on Saturday, October 10 between 9:00 a.m. and 12 p.m. for a Banned Books Read-in! 📚

Banned Books Week is an annual event that celebrates the freedom to read. This year we are hosting a Banned Books Read-in. Come to the library to read in peace with the community. Choose a banned book available at the library (or bring your own), enjoy some snacks, and read!

The first 20 participants will receive a free book! 🎉

This event is generously funded by the Friends of the Sun Prairie Public Library.

To learn more about the freedom to read and frequently banned and challenged books, visit ALA's Banned Books page at https://www.ala.org/bbooks.

You can also learn more about this event on our website: https://sunprairie.librarymarket.com/event/banned-books-read-in.

This morning we celebrated all our amazing volunteers, from the Friends to the Foundation, and everyone in-between. We are so grateful to the many community members who support and help the library in many different ways. Thank you! 🧡

Join us TONIGHT (Thursday, September 24) at 6PM in the Community Room for a SPARC Community Conversation on electric micromobility devices. 💬

Electric micromobility devices (e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-motos) suddenly seem to be everywhere these days. But how do we know which ones belong where, and how do we make sure their spread improves mobility and convenience for all without endangering their users or others? Join SPARC for a discussion with two experts currently in the thick of efforts to manage this increasingly complicated issue for our communities and neighborhoods.

A SPARC Community Conversation featuring:

-Ben Lyman, Transportation Planner, Greater Madison Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
-David Salmon, Transportation Coordinator, City of Sun Prairie

The Sun Prairie Media Center will live broadcast the event: https://www.sunprairiemediacenter.com/now-live/.

Sun Prairie Action Resource Coalition (SPARC) is a grassroots information and action network, which supports and promotes local involvement to move Sun Prairie and Wisconsin forward.
