It was a busy night, but as always, volunteers showed up and made sure everyone who needed a meal was served. We are so grateful for your care and kindness! 🥰

⚖ Sunshine Place's Sunshine Legal Clinic program recently hosted a FREE housing law training led by some of the amazing attorneys from Community Justice, Inc. This training offered actionable information for anyone from volunteers who help with housing laws, to legal clinic staff, paralegals, and lawyers.

"It was particularly comforting and empowering to hear from others in the community who navigate similar challenges. The practical guidance and strategies shared for addressing various scenarios were immensely helpful, and I now feel much better equipped to approach them. I also greatly appreciated learning about the valuable resources available, especially the information regarding the Sunshine Legal Clinic."- Training Attendee

All 28 attendees had the opportunity to expand their knowledge of Wisconsin landlord-tenant law, including issues like eviction procedures and unsafe housing conditions, while 9 practicing lawyers in attendance earned Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. Thank you to our partners at Community Justice, Inc., and to all of the attendees for taking time to expand general knowledge about housing laws, to better support those dealing with housing issues.

🙏 THANK YOU to Kate and her daughters, who organized a neighborhood Feminine Hygiene Drive for our Sunshine Pantry program! Her girls also hosted a lemonade stand and used the money raised to purchase additional feminine hygiene products to add to those they collected.

This is their second year hosting this drive, and they are already looking forward to next year. Feminine hygiene products are a basic need. It means so much to our pantry shoppers, and to us, to have these products available thanks to donors like you. 🥰

🎉🎉 CONGRATS to Ann, Sunshine Place's Executive Director, for being one of four people to receive the 2026 Charles D. Ashley Award at Tuesday's City Council meeting. This annual award is presented to Sun Prairie citizens who have done the most good in the community that year.🏆

At the presentation, Ann said that she is grateful for the award and proud of her role at Sunshine Place, but added that she was just one person among many doing good work at Sunshine Place every day. 🥹 That may be true, but everyone here knows that it is her leadership, commitment, and caring, that keeps us all afloat! Thank you for all that you do for our community, Ann!

Our KiDs Closet Youth Board is working with Cassoulet in Sun Prairie to raise money for our KiDs Closet program! Shop at Cassoulet on Tuesday, September 29th and Wednesday, September 30th, and a portion of your purchases will go towards our KiDs Closet program!
