Futures depend on us ... every child, every day. Sun Prairie is a thriving, increasingly diverse community conveniently located in south-central Wisconsin.
It is just minutes from Madison and close to both Chicago and Milwaukee. The city is known for its historic downtown, quality schools, outstanding parks, and safe neighborhoods. It provides an excellent blend of affordability and high quality of life for its residents. The community supports education, passing twelve building referendums in the past ten years. Most recently, we passed a two-part referendum, which included a capital referendum of $164 million and an operational referendum of $5 million annually. Funding was used to build a second high school, reconfigure Central Heights Middle School, relocate Prairie Phoenix Academy, create a new multi-purpose stadium, fund construction and capital mainteance projects, increase teacher salaries, and fund annual operating expenses associated with our new high school.

It's not Homecoming Week in Sun Prairie without a homecoming parade! Last night, we celebrated homecoming at the Sun Prairie West High School Homecoming Parade, and wow, the community showed up! The streets were full of positive energy, school spirit, and plenty of Wolves pride.
A huge thank you to our students, staff, families, and community partners who marched, cheered, and helped make it such a special night.
We know that energy isn't going anywhere, and we can't wait to keep it going all week long, right up to the SP West Homecoming Dance!

We’re proud to announce that Sun Prairie has been named a Dane County Climate Champion for the sixth year in a row!
This award, presented to us by Dane County Office of Energy & Climate Change, follows efforts associated with our USDA grant funded RESCU food waste compost pilot in partnership with Green Box Compost, Sustain Dane, and Sun Prairie Schools.
Through this pilot, we’ve offered curbside composting to over 140 households, provided composting at 10 city events, and established composting at 3 schools.
Together, we’ve diverted nearly 60,000 pounds of food waste from landfills, produced over 40 cubic yards of compost, and avoided 31 metric tons of CO2 emissions. Thank you to everyone helping make Sun Prairie a more sustainable community! ♻️🌎

The Sun Prairie West Homecoming Parade is still on for tonight at 6:00 p.m.!
The parade begins on Kroncke Drive, travels along Main Street, and ends at Bristol Street.
