Today, Sunrise has the most modern fleet of state-of-the-art fire-rescue equipment in Florida.

🚨 This is National Stop on Red Week. Every time you see emergency lights and hear a siren, remember to stop at a red light and never try to "beat" an emergency vehicle through an intersection.
Those few extra seconds you wait could give firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement the space they need to reach someone in need safely.

Engine 83 recently stopped by for a special show-and-tell, giving young athletes the opportunity to meet our firefighters, explore the fire engine up close, and learn important fire safety tips in a fun and engaging way.

South Florida temperatures can become dangerous quickly. Take a few simple steps to protect yourself:
☀️ Drink plenty of water—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🧢 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🏠 Stay indoors or in air-conditioned spaces during the hottest part of the day.
👵 Check on older adults, young children, and neighbors who may need assistance.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
Staying hydrated is one of the easiest ways to prevent heat-related illness. Stay cool, stay safe, Sunrise.

As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we wish everyone a fun, safe, and memorable holiday with family and friends.
🎆 For a safer celebration, please remember:
• Keep pets safe and secured indoors — loud fireworks can cause fear and distress
• Be considerate of veterans and individuals with sensory sensitivities
• Attend public firework displays instead of setting off your own
• Skip the sparklers for children — glow sticks are a safer alternative
Let’s work together to keep our community safe while enjoying the festivities.

In the wake of the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela, thousands of families are in urgent need of food, shelter, hygiene supplies, and other essential items. Sunrise Fire-Rescue is partnering with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) to help provide critical relief to those affected.
From July 1 through July 14, the community is invited to donate much-needed supplies at any Sunrise Fire Station between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Requested donations include:
🛒 Non-perishable food
🧼 Hygiene products
👶 Baby supplies
🏕️ Temporary household essentials
🐶 Pet food and supplies
Please note: Clothing, shoes, linens, towels, used items, opened items, and perishable goods cannot be accepted.
Every donation—no matter the size—helps provide comfort and hope to families working to recover from this disaster. Thank you for standing with our global community and making a difference.

⚡🌩️ Lightning Safety Awareness Week 🌩️⚡
Lightning can strike miles away from a storm and remains one of the leading weather-related hazards in Florida.
Remember these simple steps to stay safe:
🏠 When thunder roars, go indoors. Seek shelter in a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle.
📱 Stay alert. Monitor forecasts, watches, warnings, and emergency alerts.
🔌 Unplug from danger. Avoid using electronics connected to wall outlets.
🚿 Skip the water. Do not shower, wash dishes, or use running water while lightning is nearby.
🌳 Watch for hidden hazards. Stay away from tall trees, power lines, and rooftops, and be cautious of storm damage after the weather passes.
No outdoor place is safe when thunderstorms are in the area. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
