If you have a Sun Devil starting in the fall, plan to join us for a festive Parent and Family Welcome event during move-in weekend on Aug. 14-16! While your student gets settled and explores their new home, hear from university and campus leadership, connect with college staff, learn about ASU Family opportunities and mingle with other families. This weekend, we had a great time welcoming our newest Washington Sun Devils and their families to the ASU community during our annual Sun Devil Send Off! A huge thank you to our incredible local alumni, our local Arizona State University Admission Services rep and ASU Family support for helping make the event such a success.

Your ASU journey is just getting started, and the Arizona State University Alumni Association and our Seattle Chapter can't wait to support you along the way. Arizona State University would not be the institution it is today without Lattie Coor Jr.

As ASU’s 15th president, Lattie helped move the university into a new era. During his tenure, ASU achieved Research I status, expanded its multicampus vision, connected with the community and strengthened the philanthropic foundation that helped accelerate its growth.

He understood that ASU could become a major research university guided to support the success of Arizona and its people. He and Elva warmly welcomed Sybil and I, and then became beloved colleagues, friends and mentors.

With Lattie's passing, ASU and the state have lost a true champion. Sybil and I will miss him dearly, but his legacy will continue to shape this university and Arizona for generations to come.
