On our next Future Call, we’ll explore how child development and early learning principles can inform child custody and co-parenting strategies for families with young children.

Jake Hornstein and Greg Hill, co-founders of Our Children Have Rights, will return to share how their organization helps parents navigate custody and co-parenting while keeping the developmental needs of children ages 0–5 at the center. The conversation will highlight their approach to supporting families and creating parenting strategies that help children maintain strong relationships with both parents as well as new insights and best practices from their work around the state.

Every other Tuesday, The Children's Movement of Florida's Future Call convenes leaders from across Florida to explore real-world solutions aligned with Florida’s Early Learning Roadmap—highlighting what’s working, what’s evolving, and what others can learn.

Co-parenting and parallel parenting have different approaches, but both aim to support a child’s well-being.

When parents can communicate and work together, co-parenting encourages collaboration. In high-conflict situations, parallel parenting can help reduce tension by establishing clear boundaries and limiting interaction. The right approach depends on your family’s circumstances and what works best for your child.
