Man oh man was it good to get back to doing what I love! It's been too long since VetCatch 6 has been able to get out there, but today just reminded me how much I've missed just fishing with my fellow vets. Plenty of good fish, good laughs, good stories and a couple of good beers even 🤟 Throw in a PB redfish and it's one of my best days on the water in a long time!

5 years ago a Vietnam Vet named Jack drove up to the baitstore with his cousin Dennis and a broke down PT Cruiser. He told us he and his cousin served together and he flies down to visit for them to go fishing together every year. With the car broken down and only one scooter, they didn't know how they would get to the river. We made a phone call, rented a scooter for a couple of weeks for them and the rest is history. We stayed friends, fished together a bunch and Jack even sang our favorite Randy Travis song right after I said "I do" to Nicole as we walked down the aisle as newlyweds. Brother Jay (as we call him) and Dennis became family to us and many of the extended VetCatch crew.

Well, with a great bit of sadness I have to tell you that Brother Jay passed away last week. He wouldn't want anyone to cry for him though. He lived one hell of a life. Raise a glass, make it Irish something if you have it, and toast to a life well lived.

Let us celebrate 250 years of independence the right way.. with a good Ol' Fashioned Meme dump! Let's see those 4th of July memes boys and girls!

Yesterday we spent our evening with the Dunedin Blue Jays spreading our mission and making connections in the community. We were the beneficiaries of yesterday’s raffles and we were able secure additional funding to help get more veterans on the water. Please keep an eye on our page for upcoming trips and stay engaged!
