Why Do Special Forces Wear Crye
-
🚨Full Crye Precision video is live SOON on our channel!!!!🚨

Crye Precision’s story started in 2000, when two Cooper Union graduates received a contract to help redesign the Army’s “Soldier of the Future.” That work produced body armor and uniform concepts along with a camouflage pattern called Scorpion.

In 2004, the Army passed on Scorpion and selected UCP instead. Delta Force adopted Crye’s version, MultiCam, and the Rangers followed. By 2010, the Army was issuing MultiCam in Afghanistan, and by 2015 its new OCP pattern traced back to Scorpion.

Crye continued developing equipment beyond camouflage, including work on the Ranger helmet, while its plate carriers, camouflage, and privately purchased operator gear remained an important part of the company’s presence in special operations.

The US Military Built a Wall?
-
In 2008, a U.S. brigade fought a six-week battle in Baghdad while protecting crews tasked with building a concrete barrier.

After a political agreement collapsed in March, militia fighters began firing more than 1,000 rockets and mortars into the Green Zone. A large clearing operation was considered too costly, so the 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division took a different approach.

They built a 12-foot concrete wall intended to cut militia fighters off from their rocket-launch sites.

The construction crews worked while facing sniper fire, RPGs, and IED attacks. Apaches, fighters, and drones provided cover while intelligence teams tracked rocket teams back toward their leadership and supply depot.

By mid-May, the wall had been completed and rocket fire had collapsed. A ceasefire was declared on May 12, and Iraqi troops entered Sadr City eight days later while meeting almost no resistance.

Why SEAL Team 6 Chose This
-
In 1989, NATO identified a problem. Pistols could not defeat modern body armor, while ri**es were too large and heavy for support troops such as pilots and vehicle crews to carry practically. mp7

The H&K MP7 was built around a new 4.6x30mm cartridge, described as small and fast enough to defeat NATO-standard armor at 200 meters.
The weapon itself measured just over 16 inches with the stock collapsed, weighed about 4.6 pounds, and was roughly two inches wide.

It could be fired one-handed like a pistol or extended and used more like a carbine. It fired at roughly 950 rounds per minute and could accept suppressors, optics, and lights.

Although it was originally intended for support troops, direct-action units including SEAL Team 6 and the SAS adopted it. Its combination of compact size and armor-defeating capability is presented as the reason elite units continued choosing it more than 20 years later.

The MP7 was also reportedly carried on the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

The Navy Has a Secret River Unit
-
The Navy is not limited to aircraft carriers, destroyers, and the open ocean.

There is also the Brownwater Navy, operating in rivers, deltas, and shallow inland waterways where large ships cannot go. Special Boat Team 22 is based at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi and is described as the Navy’s only dedicated special operations unit of its kind for river operations. Its lineage traces back to 1972, with crews conducting counter-narcotics operations throughout Central and South America for decades.

Its primary platform is the SOC-R, a 33-foot craft powered by water jets and capable of operating in just two feet of water. Five weapon mounts provide 360-degree coverage, while a four-man crew handles the boat.

Some crew members are even certified to call in airstrikes directly from the craft.

One SBT-22 crew completed 192 combat missions on the Tigris River in eight months and brought its boat home every time. That boat is now in a museum in Florida.

Why Flyovers Became a Tradition
-
Military flyovers have been connected to sporting events for more than a century.

The first recorded example described here dates to the 1918 World Series in Chicago, when roughly 60 aircraft flew over Comiskey Park.

Modern flyovers serve a more practical purpose as well. Military pilots have flight-hour requirements they need to maintain for their qualifications, and a stadium flyover can count as a training mission. From that perspective, those hours would have been spent flying anyway.

There is also a recruitment component. Most civilians rarely see military aircraft operating up close, while a major sporting event can put those aircraft in front of an audience of tens of thousands of people at once.

That combination of training, visibility, and tradition helps explain why military flyovers became such a familiar part of major American sporting events.
