Why Axon K9?
Communication happens in the axon. In neuroscience, an axon is the core part of a nerve cell that transmits impulses from the brain to the body. It is where habits form and where the lightbulb moments occur.

That is not a decorative metaphor. When it comes to dog training, we do not rely on guesswork or surface-level quick fixes. Our entire approach is built on rewiring how your dog processes the world around them, building stronger, clearer neural pathways for reliable real-world obedience.

Whether you are setting up a new puppy for lifelong success, fine-tuning advanced manners, or navigating complex behavior challenges like reactivity and aggression, we build real solutions from the brain up.

The Behaviorist
MEET ASHLEY BLACKBURN; MASTER DOG TRAINER & DEGREED ANIMAL BEHAVIORIST

At Axon K9, dog training isn't just a discipline, it's an exact science.

Founded by Ashley Blackburn, an ANIMAL BEHAVIORIST holding an Masters degree in Animal Behavior and credentials as a MASTER DOG TRAINER, Axon K9 was built to bridge the gap between high-level behavioral science and practical, real-world ex*****on.

Ashley specializes in structurally safe, evidence-based behavior modification for all breeds, ranging from foundational puppy development to severe aggression and reactivity rehabilitation. Rather than relying on surface-level quick fixes or generic routines, Ashley analyzes the behavioral and emotional drivers behind a dog's actions.

Plenty of trainers can teach a dog to sit. Far fewer can explain why a dog is guarding a doorway, why a rescue shuts down on walks, or why a well-trained dog bites anyway. By understanding why a dog behaves the way they do, she constructs custom, step-by-step protocols that build lasting clarity, impulse control, and mutual trust between dogs and their handlers.

Whether coaching owners 1-on-1, overseeing structured home-based boarding, or rehabilitating complex behavioral challenges, Ashley's mission remains the same: empowering owners with the clarity, tools and confidence needed to build a balanced, reliable bond with their dogs. Not dependence on a trainer, but genuine understanding of the animal in your house.

We’re EVOLVING!!
Big news from Making Sit Happen!

In 2024, I took a major step forward and relocated to Austin, Texas, where I built and operated a premier, specialized kennel dedicated entirely to severe canine aggression. The venture was a massive success, yielding incredible behavioral transformations and invaluable insights into complex cases. Now, the journey continues back where it all started. I'm proud to bring Axon K9 to Southern California, offering unparalleled, science backed rehabilitation to our local community.

⚡️Welcome to Axon K9:

📈Results-Driven Packages
New look. New region. Same unwavering commitment to behavioral science.

I am incredibly excited to officially introduce Axon K9 a premium, master level training practice dedicated to elite, in person canine development. Our programs serve all levels of dogs, spanning from foundational manners and advanced off-leash obedience to our highly specialized, advanced behavior modification protocols. No matter where your dog is starting from, we possess the expertise to elevate their capabilities and transform their behavior. Along with this new identity, I have officially relocated and opened my books for clients right here, back in Southern California📍

My background is rooted with a Masters degree in Animal Behavior, which means our approach completely bypasses superficial fixes. We look at the underlying neurological and environmental causes of behavior to build sustainable, real-world structure.

Every single partnership begins with a mandatory, high value 60Minute In Person Behavioral Assessment where we carefully map out your dog’s history, triggers, and precise learning criteria.

To my fantastic past clients… thank you for your immense trust and support on this journey. To our new SoCal community… I cannot wait to connect with you, our local veterinarians, and all your dogs.
Let’s get to work.
