Two Wheatons (need to be the only two dogs) need a foster. Lost their home. At risk for separation and they do not have a place to go right now -- owner went into hospital today and is not in a good spot. I'd like to make sure they stay together. They are 7 and 11 years old -- they do not deserve to lose each other. RESCUES CANNOT HELP DOGS IN NEED UNLESS PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO STEP UP AND FOSTER. Please help.

WE CANNOT SAY IT ENOUGH! No doggy doors! Do not let your pets outside by themselves -- go out with them and stay close. This is a screen shot from real surveillance footage.
** ARIZONA ** and everywhere. If you would not leave a toddler or a pile of a million dollars cash with your attention, don't leave your pets unsupervised there either.
JONES IS NOW DEAD.
Why fosters matter? This dog who came to county with his head stuck in a container (look at his kind and patient demeanor) was let down. NO ONE OFFERED TO FOSTER. Today, the county shelter killed him. Everyone wants rescues to save dogs. It cannot be done without fosters. This dog deserved love; not death.

A dog was recently reunited after being missing for 3.5 years (originally stolen from a yard -- we know dogs should never be left outside alone).... the original family never stopped looking, had vet records, and importantly, had pictures of their dog which showed a unique shaped marking on her bottom :) LESSON: Take pictures of all angles and areas of your dog so you have an identifier if needed. Never leave your dogs outside alone. Have your dog microchipped and register it. And always, always, keep a collar and ID tag on your dog, or a collar with your phone number embroidered on it. Do whatever it takes IN ADVANCE so if your dog gets lost, you have a decent chance of getting your dog back.
Do not be so arrogant to say, "my dogs don't get out" or "my dog would never leave." It could end up being your biggest regret.
