ST. MADNESS

MADNESS started in 1993 under the name "Crown Of Thorns" but in 1997 we found out that there was a christian rock group from New Jersey that had trademarked the name back in 1991. This was two years before we even started to use it so we knew we had to change the name of the band. The CD we had out at the time was called, "The Spiritual Visions of St. Madness" (by Crown of Thorns) so Marge our manager and I got an entertainment attorney and did a worldwide search to see if anyone had or owned the name, "ST. It was available so we trademarked it on the spot and have been "ST. We wear face paint onstage because we are a theatrical band and we consider it a type of war paint. Sometimes we have actors and or pretty ladies dancing onstage with us. The band has been based out of Tempe, Arizona USA since it’s inception. We have opened for (or been on the same bill or festivals) as Van Halen, Monster Magnet, Gwar, King Diamond, Merciful Fate, Flotsam and Jetsam, Sacred Reich, Lynch Mob, Fates Warning, Phil Lewis, Six Feet Under, Death, Destruction, Iced Earth, Black Oak Arkansas, The Misfits and D.R.I, etc

St. Madness performed at the iconic 12th & 13th "Milwaukee Metafests" in 1998 and 1999. In November of 2013 our CD entitled, "CARNIMETAL" received the "Los Angeles Music Award" for "Metal Album of the Year". In 2010 our vocalist, “Prophet” released his first acoustic "solo" CD entitled, "The Edge" and it received the "Phoenix Music Award" for "Record of the Year". In November of 2014 - ST. MADNESS was included in the "TEMPE HISTORY MUSEUM'S" exhibit that was entitled, "THE TEMPE SOUND" and it remained up for a year. The new CD, "BLOODLUSTCAPADES" came out in March of 2018 and it is our 11th full length record. On Saturday September 22nd 2018 we had a very special 25th Anniversary concert / CD release at “Joe’s Grotto” here in Phoenix, Arizona USA. Six former member’s of our band came back to play songs with us and it was an amazing night. MADNESS has never tried or had the ambition of being “Rock Stars” what we are is “Entertainer’s”. We serve the fans the fans don’t serve us. Our music is on iTunes, Spotify, Reverb Nation, and Band Camp. Much of it is all over Youtube as well. METAL to the DEATH and BEYOND!!! \m/
