Laymoon Cafe

When creating Laymoon, we wanted every piece of design to be intentional. The intention was always for our cafe to feel like a portal to our own memories of Palestine and Syria, and we worked closely with House of Form to craft every detail of the cafe. Our lounge was something we knew we had to nail, with ample seating and comfortable spaces to enjoy coffee, but we wanted to push it even farther and make it into a world of its own. Drawing inspiration from Bedouin tents, we transformed the lounge into the image of a billowing tent, housing several groups of people underneath one shared space. We’ll have more design breakdowns coming soon!

An appreciation post for one of our co-founders, Noor 🍉 ☕️🌙 Cafes were an important community space for Noor while she was in school for physical therapy, and years working as a barista imbued a love of coffee. Creating Laymoon was about creating a space for her community, and for students just like her that needed a place that was open late, had ample seating, great coffee and pastries and all the outlets in the world.
