Kittens need a place they can be safely contained where it’s quiet when they first go to their new homes. We recommend a place where you can put their food, water,litter box, and bed where they cannot get behind heavy furniture, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.. Cats are a little more unpredictable than dogs are in a new environment, and the most outgoing kitten can be scared in a new place for a few days while at acclimates. Having a safe place for the kitten to quietly acclimate where it cannot hide from you, so that you can have easy access to the kitten, really helps things. 🙂

Why We Start Table Training Our Kittens Early 🐾

At Crosswinds Cattery, we begin table training our kittens at an early age to help them build confidence and become comfortable being gently handled. This important step helps prepare them for grooming, veterinary visits, and, for many families, cat shows.

A well-socialized kitten is often more relaxed, curious, and adaptable as they grow. We believe early handling and positive experiences help our kittens transition more smoothly into their new homes.

Every kitten deserves the best possible start, and table training is just one of the many ways we invest in raising confident, happy companions. ❤️
