EXTREME HEAT WARNING

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for our area today from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with temperatures up to 105°F and heat index values as high as 112°F. Please take precautions to protect yourself, your family, and those around you.

The Terrell Police Department is excited to partner with the Forney Police Department for Tip-A-Cop in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics Texas!

Join us on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Texas Roadhouse in Terrell from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for an evening of great food, community, and giving back.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics is a global fundraising and awareness program that pairs law enforcement officers with Special Olympics athletes. Through events like Tip-A-Cop, LETR helps raise critical funds and awareness to support Special Olympics athletes and the opportunities they deserve.

Come out, say hello to officers from both the Terrell and Forney Police Departments, and consider making a donation to this incredible cause.

Today, we pause to remember and honor Officer O.V. Rosenbaum, End of Watch July 12, 1962.

Officer Rosenbaum dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community, answering a calling that required courage, sacrifice, and commitment. Though decades have passed since his passing, his service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we reflect on his legacy, we are reminded that the badge represents more than a profession—it represents a promise to stand in service to others, often at great personal risk. Officer Rosenbaum’s dedication continues to inspire those who wear the badge today.

This morning, members of the Terrell Police Department proudly participated in the Run for the Blue 5K 2026, joining fellow law enforcement officers, first responders, families, and community members in support of those who wear the badge.

Events like this are a great reminder that law enforcement extends beyond the uniform. They bring people together, promote wellness, strengthen partnerships, and honor the dedication and sacrifice of those who serve our communities every day.
