Kansas Press Association
Founded in 1863 to serve the newspaper industry and to protect the rights of a free press.
Kansas Press Association traces its founding back to 1863, the first recognized meeting of a
few Kansas publishers to serve the newspaper industry and to protect the rights of a free press. Today, KPA continues its efforts by providing Kansas publications with marketing and educational
services, legislative representation and a forum for the exchange of ideas. KPA also acts as an
agency for the placement of advertising in the state’s newspapers (both print and online-only). The association hosts conventions, conferences and seminars for the newspaper industry, and serves as a central source of industry information.
