Halloween costumes change every year, but one rule never does: seat belts every time, on every ride, no matter what. Whether you're headed to a party, trick-or-treating or just running errands, buckle up before you pull out of the driveway. It only takes a few seconds, and it's worth doing every single time.

Alcohol affects your coordination and decision-making skills long before you feel impaired. Save the drinks for after the ride.

If it's not happening to you, it may seem funny, but it really isn't; it could be deadly.
🦋Wildlife inside your vehicle can be surprising, scary, and present an extreme challenge for drivers. An insect or other varmint inside your vehicle can trigger panic and create dangerous distractions. No matter the type, whether it is a bee, wasp, or other flying or crawling insect, it is important to keep your attention on driving first.
🪰The hardest, yet most important, thing to remember when an insect (or whatever) enters your vehicle is to resist the urge to swat at it while moving. Taking your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road for even a few seconds can create a serious hazard. Instead, remain calm and look for a safe place to pull over if needed. Again, we know how crazy difficult and scary it can be. (But we don't want you to go head-on with another car while fighting a bug.
If an insect gets inside your vehicle:
☑Keep both hands on the wheel.
☑Stay focused on the road ahead.
☑Open windows only if you can do it without getting distracted.
☑Avoid reaching, swatting, or ducking away from the insect.
☑Pull over in a safe location if the insect continues to distract you.
✅Once stopped, allow the insect to exit or remove it safely.
When nature makes an appearance, a steady response can make all the difference.

"...You could fall into a deep hole while traveling in the dark stormy nights, possibly storm chasing, looking into the dark skies not paying attention to the roadway in front of you. Best thing for everyone is to stay safely indoors and off the roads during hazardous weather conditions. "
K Road (Tipton Black Top) is closed from 250 RD to 280 RD. Please make other arrangements to go around this area if you need to travel in the area southwest of Beloit, preferably blacktops. Do not attempt to travel on dirt roads, your vehicle will be stuck there for many days and possibly ticketed as well.
This is a reminder to everyone that you could fall into a deep hole while traveling in the dark stormy nights, possibly storm chasing, looking into the dark skies not paying attention to the roadway in front of you. Best thing for everyone is to stay safely indoors and off the roads during hazardous weather conditions. Thank you and stay safe.
