Covering Shawnee, Wabaunsee, Johnson and Linn Counties, we employ close to 200 Paramedics & EMTs, and have a combined annual call volume of over 25,000 responses. We also provide Critical Care Transports, Bariatric transports, Mobile Health Care for businesses and industry, and event standby services.

Please keep the Reach Air Medial team, part of our GMR family in your thoughts. They suffered a tragic loss of some of the crew members, while in flight this past week.
Strong communities are built on collaboration, preparation, and trust.
This summer, the Topeka Joint Emergency Task Force brought together the Topeka Police Department, Shawnee County Sheriff's Office, Topeka Fire Department, AMR Topeka, Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center, and Shawnee County Emergency Management for a full-scale mass casualty exercise at West Ridge Mall.
By training together in a realistic, no-notice scenario, these agencies tested response times, strengthened coordination, and identified opportunities to improve community readiness. Thank you to all of our public safety partners and civilian volunteers for helping ensure Shawnee County is prepared when our neighbors need us most.

AMR Topeka was proud to celebrate, along with our sister bases across the nation, GMR Founders Day. This marks a significant milestone for the company.
GMR, the nation's largest provider of emergency medical services, recently became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on May 13, 2026 !
As part of this milestone, GMR introduced a Founders Day Equity Program, awarding eligible full-time employees with stock valued at $185 million.

⭐️ As we wrap up National Public Safety Telecommunications week, here are some of the awards we gave out while celebrating our AMR Comms team of professional 911 EMS dispatchers. We appreciate the dedication to patient care all year long while also watching over our EMS crews! ⭐️
Awards 🏆 include:
🌟 Top 3 911 calls ☎️ Awarded to individuals who have handled the most 911 calls in the past 12 months. This outlines the recipient’s dedication to our community, through their craft, customer service & their team while providing care at a moments notice. (**All calls handled within the AMR comms center are answered above national stands by our entire team**!!)
🌟 Top 3 Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) protocol compliance. Every week, 911 calls are randomly pulled & ran through an EMD Quality Assurance process and scored against the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch Standards. Awards are provided to individuals who’s compliance scoring during the last years QA process are among the highest on their team. This showcases their dedication to ensuring 911 calls are triaged and provided the most appropriate care and response by field crews and First Responders.
