💚 NETWorks Works Because of You: Lauren Vogel 💚

At NETWorks, we're blessed with volunteers who don't just give their time—they give their hearts. Lauren Vogel is one of those special people.

As one of our 2026 Board Members, Lauren wears many hats. Every Thursday, you'll find her at the Tucker Farmers Market representing NETWorks Growings!, where she's become something of a local expert on all things leafy and delicious. If you've ever wondered which lettuce to take home, Lauren probably has an answer!

But her impact goes far beyond the farmers market.
Lauren serves on our Development Committee, where her thoughtful insights help strengthen our donor stewardship efforts and ensure we are wise stewards of every dollar entrusted to NETWorks. She asks great questions, offers thoughtful perspectives, and always keeps our mission at the center of every conversation.
She's also the definition of a worker bee. Long before the market opens, Lauren is loading her car with tents, tables, produce, signs, and everything else needed to make our Growings booth a success. If something needs to be done, Lauren is already doing it—with a smile.

Her kindness, generous spirit, and willingness to quietly serve inspire everyone around her.

Lauren, thank you for helping hope grow—one head of lettuce, one thoughtful idea, and one act of service at a time. NETWorks truly works because of you. 💚

What an amazing Back-to-School Shop!

This year, 81 families visited NETWorks, and together we helped 187 children receive the school supplies they need to begin the school year with confidence.

🏫 28 different schools represented

From Pre-K to college, students from across our community—including Tucker, Smoke Rise, Brockett, Henderson, Midvale, and many more—left with backpacks filled with grade-appropriate supplies and the encouragement of neighbors who care.

Every backpack tells a story.

It says to a child, "You matter. We believe in you. Your community is cheering you on."

To every donor who gave, every volunteer who packed supplies, every church and community partner who collected backpacks and supplies, and every person who prayed for this ministry—thank you. Your generosity is helping local students walk into their classrooms prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.

As another school year begins, we're reminded that when a community comes together, amazing things happen.

If you've enjoyed fresh hydroponic lettuce from Growings!, there's a good chance Jalyn had a hand in making it happen.

While much of his work happens behind the scenes, your experience is better because of his dedication. From caring for thousands of plants and working alongside our incredible volunteers to making extra trips to the Tucker Farmers Market when we sell out of lettuce, Jalyn is always willing to do whatever it takes.

And yes... if you've heard the rumor that he sings to the plants, it's true! 🌱🎶 We like to think they grow a little happier because of it.

Jalyn, thank you for the care, joy, hard work, and heart you bring to Growings! every single day. Your commitment helps ensure our neighbors have access to fresh, locally grown produce, and you make our team stronger just by being you.

🌱 From This Moment... to Today. 🌱

Fourteen months ago, we celebrated the ribbon cutting for Growings! Just a few months later, Lead Farmer Neil and volunteer Daniel were hard at work building the outdoor gardens—expanding what was already becoming something special.

Looking back at this photo reminds us how far we've come.

Since then, Growings! has:
🥬 Harvested thousands of pounds of fresh, locally grown produce for our neighbors.
🌿 Expanded from our hydroponic farm to thriving outdoor gardens.
🤝 Engaged volunteers who have invested countless hours growing food and hope. 💚 Helped provide fresh, nutritious produce to families experiencing food insecurity throughout our community.

Every garden bed built, every seed planted, and every harvest shared represents neighbors helping neighbors.
