'Holding Together' by Courtney Newvine

"This photograph was made after I encountered a handmade prop ice cream sculpture created for another artist's project and photographed it with permission. Rather than documenting the object itself, I was interested in using light, space, and composition to create something of my own. Looking back, I can already see the quietness and appreciation for the mundane that continue to shape my photographic work today, finding beauty in ordinary subjects and allowing them to simply exist."
