JESUS WAS A CARPENTER… BUT TODAY, GOD WAS MY PLUMBER! 🙌🏽🙏🏽💦

Y’all, we take SO MANY things for granted…until suddenly we can’t use them.

I had a severe sewer blockage at the house. I couldn’t run water. I couldn’t flush the toilets. I couldn’t use the bathroom. Basically, I couldn’t function normally in my own home. 😩

Thank God for my sister Sylvia, who came to my rescue and let me spend the night at her house. ❤️ Sometimes the blessing isn’t just in the solution—it’s in the people God has already placed around you.

Yesterday, the plumber worked for THREE HOURS trying to clear the blockage. He ran a 150-FOOT SNAKE through the line and STILL couldn’t reach it! 😳

At that point I’m thinking, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?!

I called the City of Houston, and they sent an inspector out ON A SUNDAY! 🙌🏽

Then this morning, another crew showed up. And I will never forget what they told me:

“We’re going to take care of you.”

Baby, those were some BEAUTIFUL words to hear! 😂🙌🏽

They brought out the big guns and hydro jetted the line—using high-pressure water to work on that blockage.

And as of right now…

EVERYTHING IS LOOKING GOOD! 🙌🏽💦🚽😂

I GIVE GOD ALL THE GLORY! 🙏🏽

Yesterday I had a problem I couldn't solve. The plumber couldn't solve it. I didn't know what was going to happen next.

But God already knew where the solution was coming from.

That’s why the second graphic says:

“JESUS WAS A CARPENTER… TODAY, GOD WAS MY PLUMBER!” 😂🙏🏽

No, God didn't physically come down and unclog my sewer line. 😂 But I absolutely believe He provided the people, resources, timing and solution I needed.

And this experience reminded me of something else:

WE TAKE SO MUCH FOR GRANTED.

Running water.
A working toilet.
Taking a shower.
Washing your hands.
Turning on the faucet without thinking twice.

These are ordinary things—until you suddenly don't have them.

So today I'm grateful for RUNNING WATER AND FLUSHING TOILETS! 😂🙌🏽💦

I'm grateful for Sylvia.
I'm grateful for the inspector who came out on a Sunday.
I'm grateful for the crew who showed up this morning and said, “We will take care of you.”

And most of all…

I'M GRATEFUL TO GOD. ❤️🙏🏽

DELICIOUSNESS, REBORN WITH CORN! 🌽✨

Okay, y’all… this one is going to be DeeLicious! 😋

I wanted to create a warm, creamy, comforting Vegetarian Corn Chowder that is easy to make and can also be customized depending on how you’re eating.

This chowder combines sweet corn, hearts of palm, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and seasonings in a rich, creamy broth—then I top it with fresh avocado and parsley. 🥑🌿

🌽 DEE’S VEGETARIAN CORN CHOWDER

Ingredients:

🌽 3 cups corn kernels — fresh, frozen or canned
🥣 4 cups vegetable broth
🌿 1 cup hearts of palm, chopped
🍅 ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
🧅 1 small onion, diced
🧄 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
🫒 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
🥛 1 cup heavy cream
🧂 Sea salt to taste
✨ Black pepper
✨ Garlic powder
✨ Onion powder
✨ Smoked paprika or salt-free Cajun seasoning, optional
🥑 Fresh avocado, chopped for garnish
🌿 Fresh parsley

HOW TO MAKE IT:

Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil or butter until fragrant and tender. Add the corn, hearts of palm, sun-dried tomatoes, vegetable broth and seasonings.

Simmer for about 15–20 minutes to let all those flavors come together.

Stir in the heavy cream and simmer gently for another 5–10 minutes. For a thicker chowder, blend a small portion of the soup and stir it back into the pot.

Top your bowl with fresh chopped avocado and parsley and get ready for some serious comfort food! 🌽🥑🔥

And here's where you can have FUN with it. Make this recipe your own! Try adding diced potatoes, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, celery, carrots, bell peppers, spinach, zucchini, roasted poblano peppers, jalapeños, black beans or chickpeas. You could even add extra hearts of palm for a chunkier chowder.

🌱 DANIEL FAST/VEGAN VERSION: Skip the heavy cream and regular butter. Use olive oil or vegan butter and an unsweetened plant-based alternative such as coconut milk or cashew cream, provided the ingredients fit the guidelines of the fast you're following.

If you're not eating vegetarian, you could also turn the basic recipe into your own chowder by adding chicken, shrimp or another protein of your choice.

Yesterday, I had one of those moments that was funny AFTER the fact… but it definitely wasn’t funny while I was lying on the ground! 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

I was on my way to feed the cats, carrying their food, when I accidentally stepped BETWEEN the walking stones instead of ON one of them.

And DOWN I WENT! 😩

Thankfully, a gentleman was here working on the boat and saw me fall. He immediately came running to my rescue.

But listen… I was HURT! I couldn’t just jump right back up. I needed a minute to lie there, gather myself, assess the damage, talk to Jesus, and mentally prepare myself to get off that ground! 😂

The gentleman was standing there ready to help me, and I had to tell him, “I’m not ready to get up yet. Give me a minute.” 😭😂

Meanwhile, my new puppy was ALL OVER ME.

For a second, I thought, “Awww, look at my baby checking on me!” 🥹🐶

NOPE! 😂

That little rascal discovered that the CAT FOOD had spilled all around me and apparently decided my emergency was his opportunity! 😡🤣

I’m lying there injured, and this dog is thinking, “Well… since you’re down here anyway, I guess dinner is served!” 😂🐶🍽️

I’m pretty sure my ego was a little more damaged than my leg, but I did scrape my leg up pretty badly and had quite a bit of soreness afterward.

Apostle Hughes prayed for me that night, and I thank God because the pain left me. 🙏🏽❤️

But I’m telling y’all this story to tell you THIS…

There comes an age when you fall and you’re no longer looking around in embarrassment to see WHO SAW YOU FALL.

You’re looking around to see if SOMEBODY SAW YOU FALL WHO CAN HELP YOU GET BACK UP! 🤣🤣🤣

And you better believe I am carefully watching EVERY SINGLE STEP I take on those walking stones now! 👀😂

I’m still ABOVE ground and not UNDER the ground, THANK GOD! 🙌🏽

But whew… this one was a little too close! 😂🙏🏽

Moral of the story: Watch your step, thank God for the people who are there to help you back up… and NEVER trust a puppy around spilled cat food! 😂🐶

Your mind is some of the most valuable real estate you'll ever own. It was designed to hold purpose, vision, faith, creativity, peace, and the dreams God placed inside of you—not unpaid tenants who contribute nothing but anxiety, fear, and self-doubt.

It's time to serve an eviction notice.

Evict the voices that told you that you weren't enough.
Evict the memories that keep convincing you you'll never heal.
Evict the opinions that were never qualified to define your worth.
Evict the fear that keeps telling you to play small.

Then fill those empty rooms with truth.
With gratitude.
With wisdom.
With hope.
With confidence.
With God's promises.

Because when you stop giving your mental energy to the wrong people, you make room for the right opportunities.

Protect your peace like it's priceless...
