The Gazelle: An all out “dreaming of a car free urban experience” themed bike... wow. Some features I’ll highlight are the low maintenance internal gear system, a generator front light (no rear light sorry), generous comfort, and a bright style. A well built bike designed for an incredibly practical use. It approaches large as a 19 inch frame, some medium riders will fit but I recommend a tall rider. It’s currently marked down to $400.

I normally love to show off a rare bike, something that may have won a mountain bike race in 1993 or perhaps a beautiful 80s touring bike, both of which could be had in the same price range and both of which I love to ride. But the fact of the matter is that when I’m shopping with the family going 9 mph downtown there is so much power in being able to take home the groceries or laundry. It is heavy and fixing the flats requires a lot more faffing about to get the wheels off but it’s a sweet little truck-esque bike to help someone avoid using a car that much more. This fall, join us for a Youth Earn-a-Bike camp for young people ages 8 through 12! Over five days, learn to overhaul a bike, practice safe riding skills, have a fun time, and take home your newly refurbished bike with a helmet and a lock! 🚲💖

On Saturday morning, we’ll be at for the big El Tour de Tucson training ride at Loop de Loop at Rillito Park — join us to learn more about the big event in November, on SEPTEMBER 26th! Bike along any part of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop and enjoy live music, food vendors, prizes, and more! The ride starts at 7 AM. After party is at 10 AM! Ride with us or just come learn about Team BICAS at our table at Rillito Park! There are El Tour rides of all lengths, 1-mile route, 102-mile route, the 5K run/walk, or one of many others, so don’t be afraid to join!
