Pio Decimo Center helps individuals and families make lasting, positive change in their lives. The Eucharistic Missionaries of St.
Pio Decimo Center’s roots go deep in Tucson’s vibrant Barrio Santa Rosa community. Dominic established Pio Decimo in 1946 as their convent, and soon began to minister to the poor and hungry. From these charitable roots, we’ve grown into a dynamic hub of community activity. Today, we provide support and solutions to help our community members grow and thrive. Program Overview
Pio Decimo Center helps individuals and families make lasting, positive change in their lives. For our youngest community members, we provide childcare and early childhood education. We help children start school with confidence, ready to learn. At our Youth Center, teens find recreational activities, skill-building classes, and mentors. These resources can help them navigate the bumpy road to adulthood without relying on gang membership or drugs. For families, we offer practical solutions to complex problems. Our programs help to reduce poverty, prevent homelessness, and encourage home ownership. And for seniors, we provide safe and affordable housing in active, caring communities.
At Pio Decimo Center, we believe children learn best when they are actively engaged, encouraged to explore, and given opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences.
Our children develop essential academic skills, social-emotional skills, creativity, confidence, and independence while building meaningful friendships and creating wonderful memories along the way.
We are proud to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive!
Come grow, learn, and make unforgettable memories with us at Pio Decimo Center! 💙
Today we want to give a special shout-out to Guillermina Xajap from Pio Decimo, our amazing Kitchen Helper, who has been part of our early childcare family for an incredible 31 years! ❤️
For more than three decades, Guillermina has dedicated herself to preparing delicious snacks and nutritious meals for our children. She takes great pride in keeping her kitchen clean, organized, and safe while making sure our children receive meals prepared with care and love.
We are especially proud to share that Guillermina recieved an EXCELLENT rating on her most recent Health Department inspection! 👏 Her commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and maintaining high standards truly shows in the wonderful work she does every day.
And, of course, we can’t forget about her amazing beans! They are a favorite and truly something special!
Our children and families absolutely adore Guillermina, and we are so grateful for the kindness, dedication, and care she has brought to our center for 31 years.
Thank you, Guillermina, for all that you do and for taking such wonderful care of our children! 🌟💚

🌱 The Foundation for a Lifetime of Learning Starts Early!
The early years are some of the most important years in a child’s development. Children are building the skills they will use for a lifetime—learning how to communicate, make friends, solve problems, manage emotions, explore their world, and become confident learners.
At Pio Decimo Center we believe every child deserves a strong beginning. Our Early Childhood Education program provides a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can learn, play, grow and prepare for kindergarten and beyond.
📚 Why Early Childhood Education Matters:
• Builds early language, literacy and math skills
• Strengthens social-emotional development
• Encourages curiosity, creativity and problem-solving
• Builds confidence, independence and resilience
• Helps children develop positive relationships
• Prepares children for kindergarten and future learning
Quality early learning is more than childcare—it is an investment in a child’s future. Research shows that high-quality early education is associated with stronger school readiness and positive academic and social outcomes.
❤️ Give your child the gift of a strong start.
