There’s nothing efficient about soil blockers. But that’s exactly why the University of Arizona’s School Garden Workshop uses them. 🌱😸
K-12 learners press their own soil cubes by hand with the blocker, learning how much care goes into the food on their plate.

Wildcat legend Steve Kerr’s international upbringing sparked a curiosity about the world. 🌎🐱
Now, Kerr and his wife, Margot, both 1988 University of Arizona graduates, have created the Kerr Family Endowment for Humanities Abroad.

This is Dr. Salanave’s Project! ⛈️
Leon Salanave was a research associate at the university’s Institute of Atmospheric Physics from 1959 to 1971. He later published “Lightning and Its Spectrum: An Atlas of Photographs” (University of Arizona Press), a collection of lightning flashes. 📸⚡
Published in 1963, this image of Salanave’s captures lightning striking the U of A campus through a specialized camera made measure the intensity of a lightning strike.
