Georgia's arthritis and spine issues really make shelter life unusually difficult and uncomfortable for her. We need to get her into a foster home ASAP so that she can be better assessed for how she does day to day when she isn't living in the concrete jungle of PACC. Georgia came to the shelter after people witnessed her being mistreated. She has some arthritis that affects her legs and she is responding well to the medications that PACC's clinic has her on. While she won't be running in any marathons, she would certainly enjoy spending her days in a safe and loving home where she will be shown the care she deserves. Her play group evaluation at the shelter showed she mostly kept to herself and was overall very chill. As we learn more about her, we will update her info. She is available to adopt or foster.

Syllas is a sweet old senior guy who simply wants to find a home to spend his retirement being loved. Not a lot to ask, really. He recently returned after a four month stay in a foster home (they had to travel, which is why he returned to PACC), and they had great things to share about him. They said he lived with cats and had no interest in them, he rarely barked, was unbothered by other dogs, was overall a calm guy who was well-behaved when left home alone, and walks nicely on leash. They also shared that while he isn't a cuddler, he does like to be near you and he appreciates belly rubs. He is available to adopt or foster.

Margaret arrived at the shelter when she and a doggy pal were found hanging out at a local park. PACC has her aged at about 8 1/2 years, but we believe she may be a bit older than that. She had some masses removed and is all healed up and looking to put shelter life behind her. During her time at PACC, she has met other dogs and it appears she would prefer to have a nice quiet retirement home where she is the only dog. She can be assertive with other dogs her size--even calm easy-going ones, and previously had a meet and greet with a calm smaller dog and that was a definite no-go. She just wants to be the only apple of your eye! As we learn all about her wonderful traits (like being a big love), we will update her info. She is available to adopt or foster.

Jordie (aka Jet at PACC)

Jordie will be with us on SUNDAY, 9/20 from 11am to 3pm! He will sadly have to return to PACC next week if we can't find him a new foster or adopter!!!

Jordie arrived at PACC as a stray. He has been in a wonderful foster home for a bit and they have learned a lot about him and have spent a lot of time working with him. He loves car rides, is playful and also likes his downtime, loves toys, is house-trained, likes calm children, could be ok with a doggy pal (wants to meet them first, please), no info on cats but doesn't chase lizards or birds, and he is a champion napper! He is available to adopt or foster transfer.

Astrid has been with her loving foster family for a while now, hoping to find her forever home. They bring her to TRN each week, typically every Sunday. While she loves to visit the store, we know she'd really like to meet that special person or family she can call her very own for all the rest of her days! She loves her foster boys, even comforting them when they're sad. One of her favorite things is to play tug, she is amazingly strong for a gal her age! She enjoys car rides, snuggling is a favorite past-time, rolling in the grass and she'll even fetch when the feeling strikes. Squeaky toys are the best, and she can de-squeak and unstuff them in no time flat. She likes being the only dog in her current home, although she has met male dogs in the past that she enjoyed playing with, so that's a possibility. This special gal will steal your heart! She is available to adopt.

Lester came into PACC as a stray. He is a BIG guy and was described by shelter staff as being a gentle giant. He enjoys cooling off in the pools in the play yards at PACC on these hot summer days. He is a pretty nervous guy, but he enjoys being with his person/people a whole lot. Walks make him nervous, because it is a big scary world out there, and being in a kennel is scary, too. But when you take the time to sit with him and give him some attention, he just melts into you. He will play with a tennis ball once in a while, and is starting to discover toys. He is available to adopt or foster.

Sasha arrived as a stray, so we don't know much about her life before she came to PACC. In play group at the shelter, she prefers low energy dogs and was said to be easy-going with them. She was not a fan of very forward or overly friendly/playful dogs, mostly keeping to herself and was people oriented. She might do best as an only dog, but we are always happy to do a meet and greet with a potential pal. She is easy to handle and walks well on leash, but she can put her weight behind it if she wants to pull you in a specific direction. She needs a strong handler. She doesn't seem too impressed with toys currently, but that can change over time. She definitely enjoys sitting next to her favorite person and getting some cuddle time in. She is available to adopt or foster.

Madonna will be heading back to PACC very soon, as her foster will be traveling. We really don't want her to have to return. As a foster, PACC supplies all of her supportive meds and can also give you things like food, dog bed/crate (if they have them on hand). Stop in to meet her, she is a lovely smaller gal (under 35 pounds!).

We know a lot of people prefer to donate items, so here is your chance!

We are all but out of dry kibble! We had a nice sized bag of some good quality stuff, but it turns out, the better the kibble, the less likely our shelter dogs are to eat it. Go figure! Their biggest pet peeve? The really dark kibble. A whole bag will be headed to PACC, hopefully someone there will appreciate the good stuff. One that seems to be pretty popular with our visitors is the Purina One option, it has two different textures to it. Usually we will mix two varieties together to try to cover all the picky eaters we get.

The not too big bags are best, not only are they easy to handle, but the kibble stays fresh longer since we only open the bags we need. Those really big bags (from Costco, etc.) are a GREAT deal $-wise, but sometimes they get funky before we can get through them.

Yes, I know I sound picky, but I promise it is the DOGS!!! Last weekend, some of our most prolific eaters (like less than a minute and a half to gobble a big bowl) left the majority of their food on Sunday. That just doesn't happen with some of these dogs.
