Privileged to have been invited to speak to and with students at Miles Exploratory Learning Center the last two days!

Patrick Kelly is introducing his middle school students to Culture Bearers and Culture Workers.
They'll be making cards of the speakers (baseball-card style).

Be sure to visit their booth at Tucson Meet Yourself and check out the results of their learning!

The kids were inquisitive, with thoughtful questions.
We all learned and opened our hearts and minds.
Thank you!!

We’ve spent the past three weeks with all our senses awakening.
As we shared various things, each child felt them differently, learning and absorbing them with genuine curiosity.

The younger ones possess the power to take things in, express themselves, and create completely without filters. In the eyes of the teens, I caught fleeting glimpses of excitement, interest, and talent. They felt the pride of coming together as one through what they created with their own two hands. As they learned new truths about the world they hadn't known before, they experienced moments of emotional discomfort, followed by the reopening of their minds, and ultimately, growth, all at the same time.

True to the camp's name, "Smorgasbord", we laid out and shared a wide variety of experiences. If each child was drawn to something and gained even a slightly new perspective, that is more than enough.
That is how tastes are formed.

Children are raised by the society in which they are planted.

What kind of environment (society) should we help them grow up in?

I find myself asking this rather grand question once again.

Koru Tucson will reopen Monday, 8/31!

Our 10th-anniversary Summer Camp at Koru Jeju, South Korea was the best!

Since we started as a library for travel, we did a little crafting to quietly celebrate and give thanks that we are still on a journey. We’re excited because we’ll be sharing it with the children starting this summer.

It seems that people who travel, feel, and create just canβ€˜t stop doing it, no matter what anyone says.

Made the cover out of Jeju citrus paper. When publishing Koru Mindful Learning Guidebook, it was chosen without knowing its name simply because of the nice texture, and it turned out to be Jeju citrus paper. What a wonderful connection!

You can find it when you visit Koru.

Embracing the Earth, Koru was born on Jeju Island and continues to grow as it travels.

The people of Koru-for whom work and hobbies are one and the same-are currently spending their short vacation tasting world cuisines all around Jeju.
