Beacon Group creates opportunities for people with disabilities. We help people go from tax-supported to tax-payers.
Since 1952, Beacon has been a leader in providing real jobs and employment-related services to people with disabilities in Arizona, serving over 2,100 people with disabilities each year. Since our beginnings in 1952, Beacon Group has been committed to providing employment related opportunities to people with disabilities. We provide training, development and access to real work for a segment of our community that traditionally bears a 70% unemployment rate. In 2003, Beacon Foundation and Tetra Corporation merged to become the Beacon Group, and we now serve over 2,100 disabled persons a year. We provide a variety of employment related programs, as well as the education and socialization necessary for our clients to lead meaningful, productive lives. Our workshops offer local businesses assembly, packaging, collating and document shredding services. We also employ offsite work crews that perform grounds keeping, clerical, assembly, automobile detailing, food service and custodial maintenance.

The Arizona Cardinals Climb on February 20th will raise funds for organizations, including Beacon Group, that assist those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs). Hosted by the Arizona Cardinals Foundation, State Farm Stadium will transform from a football stadium to a trail-inspired adventure where participants can climb different routes designed for all abilities!

Check out these free digital literacy courses The Arc of the United States, The Arc San Francisco and AT&T created to bring digital skills training to people with disabilities and their families! Topics include lessons about using email and websites, online safety, building balanced digital habits and many more.
The courses have already benefited thousands of people, including Chad, featured in this video, helping him become a better self-advocate and tell his story in new ways online.

Last week, Jim Hart, Beacon's Community and Business Outreach Specialist, attended the City of Surprise Government's ribbon cutting for their Community & Resource Center!
The new space offers an array of community services all under one roof, including a library, housing and homeless assistance, health and wellness center, and a workforce development space where Beacon Employment Specialist, Jose Valenzuela, works with members on building work skills, finding jobs and meeting their career goals.
Congratulations to the City of Surprise on this wonderful new space! We are honored to a part of this initiative that helps creates access to services and strengthens the community!
