Let's make every day count! September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we’re joining to highlight the importance of showing up for school. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of the school year, which can lead to students missing out on learning, friendships, and opportunities. Let’s work together to help every child in Arizona succeed!

Huge thanks to our friends at Desert Drifter Coffee! ☕📚

This spring, Desert Drifter Coffee donated 100% of the profits from their special "Bookworm Breve" to Make Way for Books, turning every sip into support for early literacy right here in our community. We are so grateful for partners who find creative ways to help us empower parents and educators to be their children's first, best teachers.

Thank you, Desert Drifter Coffee, for your generosity and for believing in the power of reading! 💛

“If you can read, you can teach yourself anything.” — Dolly Parton 📚✨

Today, we are celebrating the incredible legacy of Dolly Parton and her profound impact on children's literacy worldwide. Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, she has gifted hundreds of millions of books to children from birth to age five, fostering a lifelong love of reading.

At Make Way for Books, we share this exact heart and mission. We believe that every child deserves access to high-quality books and literacy-rich environments right from the start.

When we look at Dolly's work, we see a beautiful reflection of what we strive to do every day in our own community: empowering families, sparking joy through stories, and making sure our youngest learners are ready to read and succeed.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing the world how books can change a child's life forever. ❤️
