Day 5 in Ecuador 🥰 🇪🇨

This farm was an absolute DREAM. It felt like a little homestead in Italy, beautifully manicured and cared for down to every detail. And the product? TOP NOTCH. 👏🏼

We were ooohing and aaahing over their first mature batch of astilbe. It was some of the fluffiest we’ve ever seen! Their freesia was incredibly fragrant, and the ranunculus was absolutely out of this world. 😍 Every flower was handled with such precision, intention, and care.

They treated us to a delicious Ecuadorian lunch, followed by another competition where we got to choose a themed tablescape to create. Our themes were Avatar, Jurassic Park, and The Great Gatsby. We got to work with some of the most beautiful flowers while learning from one another, getting creative, and trying to beat the clock! ⏰

And the generous owner crowned ALL of us winners with a discount on our next product purchase! Talk about a fun way to end a competition! 🙌🏼

We had so much fun walking through their beautiful acreage, admiring the flowers, taking in the scenery, and even exploring a 50-year-old church right there on their property.

This was definitely one of the most unique farms we visited, and one we know we’ll cherish the memories from forever. ❤️ 🌸

Day 4 at Star Roses did NOT disappoint! 🇪🇨

Sitting high up in the Ecuadorian Andes, it’s the perfect atmosphere for growing high-quality, extraordinary roses. There were roses growing so tall that the workers actually had to wear stilts to cultivate and process them. 🌹 Some of these beauties can grow over 5 feet tall and are popular exports to countries like Russia and other parts of Europe, where luxury is the standard.

One of our favorite activities was finding our very own roses throughout the farm, with each of our names on them! It was such a unique and fun way to experience the farm. After touring the beautiful greenhouses, we even got to visit their top-of-the-line floral paint shop and paint our very own roses! 🎨 Talk about taking the best souvenir home!

After touring the beautiful greenhouses, we enjoyed a delicious Ecuadorian lunch hosted by the phenomenal StarRose's team, then got busy with a couple of different workshops.

First up was a super unique way of making a calla lily boutonniere. Then came an impromptu storyline straight from the best in the business Varito Vasquez Aifd Fsmd. 4 different floral arrangements, one customer, and an urgent request… “Uber is coming!” 😂🌸

We were each assigned to one of the designs, split into teams, and challenged to finish an arch in under 30 minutes!

It was SO much fun! And, of course, one of the CDR staff team's won! 🏆

It was such a fun challenge, and we learned SO much! Not only from the instructors, but from our friends and fellow florists working alongside us.

We wrapped up the day at a really cute hotel in the heart of the city, followed by a quaint dinner with the group. Another unforgettable day in Ecuador! ❤️
