North Tulsa high school students are gaining real work experience this summer through a compensated summer internship pilot, made possible in partnership with Tulsa Public Schools, Education For Scholars, Inc., and workforce partners across Tulsa.

This pilot builds on the powerful work happening at McLain and Central High Schools, where career-connected learning has been a priority for years. Through strong collaboration, Tulsa Public Schools and partners have ensured that 45 high school students had a compensated internship opportunity this summer, regardless of GPA, background, or car access.

We are learning a lot about what it takes to create a sustainable, low-barrier pipeline for youth workforce in Tulsa, and look forward to continuing to shift systems for and with our young people.

Children who attend Pre-K build early reading and math skills, form friendships, and enter kindergarten more confident and prepared.
