The Passing of Brother Steven Ford

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform the membership of the passing of our Brother and colleague, Steven “Steve” Ford, who passed away on September 17th, 2026.

Steve began his career with us here at American Airlines in 2000 as a Jr. Fleet Service Clerk. In 2016, he transitioned into his role as a Material Logistics Specialist. Over his more than two decades of dedicated service, Steve was a valued member of our team and a trusted union brother.

Please keep the Ford family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Ron began his career with us at American Airlines in 1988 as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. Throughout his decades of service, Ron was a dedicated union brother and a valued member of our team.

Please keep the Clark family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Saturday October 10th at 10:00am. with fellowship to follow at the United Methodist Church in Collinsville OK.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brother, Jacky Mitchell, on September 28th, 2026.

Jacky joined American Airlines in 1985 as a Material Logistics Specialist and went on to excel in his career, taking on the role of MLS Crew Chief in 2007. After years of dedicated service, Jacky retired in 2021.

Our hearts go out to the Mitchell family during this difficult time. We offer our deepest sympathies and keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

We will remember Jacky’s commitment, work ethic, and kindness, both on and off the job. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched during his time with American Airlines.

Please join us in offering our condolences to the Mitchell family and in celebrating the life and career of our dear colleague, Jacky Mitchell.

Jacky Duane Mitchell, 71, passed away on September 28, 2026, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

He was born to James Estell and Frances Maxine (Carter) Mitchell, on November 10, 1954, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, a community where he grew up, received his education, and graduated from Cherokee High School in 1973.Jacky built a career as a Crew chief of multiple operations finishing his 35 year American Airlines career in landing gear. He was also known for the many things that brought him joy throughout his life.

He enjoyed OU Football, hunting, fishing, coin collecting, driving the backroads, watching NASCAR, and taking beach vacations, especially to Aruba. He was a Quick Trip coffee enthusiast and dearly loved his dog, Girlie. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and took special pleasure in attending their sporting events and activities.

On September 27, 1975, he married Carolyn Sue Dickson in Cherokee, Oklahoma, and they made their home in Cherokee, Bartlesville, and Skiatook. He later married Brenda G. Inman on July 22, 1994, in Benton, Arkansas, and they made their home in Ochelata, Oklahoma.Jacky will be remembered with love by his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Karissa Monique McMillan, and her husband, Sean; his sons, Wendell James Mitchell and his wife, Trista, and Aaron Mitchell; his stepchildren, Travis and Amanda; his brothers, James Mitchell and Billy Mitchell; and his sister, Judi Joy. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Sydney and her husband, Osmar, Connor, Ava, Axton, Waylon, and Jade, as well as his great-granddaughter, Paloma. He will also be fondly remembered by his American Airlines family.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Estell Mitchell; his mother, Frances Maxine Mitchell; his brother, Gary Mitchell; and his sister, Patricia Mitchell.

Jacky’s love for family, his steady presence, and the enjoyment he found in life’s simple pleasures will be cherished by those who knew him. His memory will live on in the lives of his family and friends and in the many moments they shared with him.

We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear brother, Greg Crutchfield, who left us on September 2nd, 2026.

Greg began his journey with American Airlines in 1984 as an Aviation Maintenance Technician – Welder, a role he dedicated himself to for over 25 years. His passion and expertise earned him a reputation as a skilled craftsman, and he took great pride in his work.

After dedicating two decades to American Airlines, Greg retired in 2009, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and a commitment to excellence.

We will always remember Greg’s strength, his resilience, and his generous spirit. He may be gone, but his memory will live on in our hearts. Please keep the Crutchfield family in your thoughts and prayers.

Rest in peace, brother. Your legacy will never be forgotten.

Gregory Bud Crutchfield

Gregory Bud Crutchfield passed away on September 2, 2026, in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was born on August 14, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Bud and Virginia (Cooper) Crutchfield.

Greg grew up in Skiatook and received his education there. He later attended OSU/Okmulgee. He also served his country honorably in the United States Army 1966-1968, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and commitment.

In his working years, Greg was a welder for American Airlines. Beyond his career, he was known for the interests and activities that brought him joy. He married Martha Elizabeth “Mardi” Dunaway November 14, 1980 in Miami, Oklahoma making their home in Broken Arrow, Skiatook and Owasso. He loved singing and directing the church choir, sharing both his voice and his faith with others. He was also a wildlife enthusiast who enjoyed spelunking and home renovations, pursuits that reflected both curiosity and energy.

Above all, Greg will be remembered by the family who were such an important part of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mardi Crutchfield; his son, Nathan Crutchfield and wife Kelsey; stepdaughters, Theresa Lee and Victoria Lesco, his sister, Polla Jordan; and his brother, Rick Crutchfield. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Vanessa Hines, Zoe Bright, Megan Byron, Alex Collier, Carter Crutchfield, and Darren Crutchfield, who will carry forward his memory with love. His legacy continues as well in his six great-grandchildren, Julien and Addison Byron, and Emelia, Elizabeth, Evelynn, and Elaina Hines. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Crutchfield; his mother, Virginia Crutchfield; his brother, Roger Crutchfield; and his sister, Linda Brooks.

Greg Bud Crutchfield’s life was marked by service, hard work, faith, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Retired Brother Stanley Black, who left us on May 2nd, 2024. Brother Stanley was a dedicated member of our American Airlines family, serving with us for over 42 years.

From his early days as a Fleet Service Clerk in 1982, Brother Stanley worked his way up the ranks, taking on various roles including Crew Chief – Fleet Service Clerk, and later becoming an Aviation Maintenance Technician. His expertise, compassion, and kindness earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and passengers alike.

Brother Stanley retired from his position as Fleet Service Clerk in 2009, but his legacy lived on through the countless lives he touched during his time with American Airlines. We are grateful for his service, dedication, and commitment to our airline.

We offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire American Airlines community. May Brother Stanley’s soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.

Stanley Black
December 22, 1954 – May 2, 2024

Stan was known for his ability to create moments of intense excitement with perfect comedic timing. He was as ambitious as the is long, from flying planes to acting and scuba diving, geology camps, and completing the Iron Man Triathlon in 1984. He had a deep love for music, especially good Rock & Roll. Causing both smiles and groans simultaneously endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had an authentic charisma that lured you in.

Stan joins his father, Larry Lee Black, and sisters, Kay Larie Black and Laura Lee Black in the Angelic Realms.

He is survived by his beautiful Mother, Billie Kathryn Black. Please join us as we celebrate his life with love, laughter, and good music.
