Some projects just hit different.

I’m honestly so excited about this record. Creating music doesn’t come as easily as it used to, and there were moments when I wondered if I’d ever get back to this place. But I’m grateful I stayed the course, because I truly believe this is something special.

As I’m getting older, I’m realizing just how much music was rooted in me as a little boy. For that, I’ll forever be thankful to my parents for planting those seeds early. Those lessons, those records, those moments… they’re all a part of who I am today, and they show up in every note I play.

I’ve been blessed to share this journey with some of my childhood musical heroes and some of the greatest artists in the industry. Working alongside Gerald Albright, Will Downing, Karen Briggs, and so many others has been an incredible honor.

A huge shoutout to my brother Jeff Slade for getting in the trenches with me and helping bring this vision to life. And to all of the amazing musicians who poured their hearts into this project—Tyrone Turner, D’Shawn Lamkin, my Detroit crew, my Houston crew, and everyone else who played a part—thank you. This record wouldn’t be what it is without each of you.

This album represents growth, perseverance, gratitude, and a whole lot of heart. I can’t wait for y’all to hear what we’ve created.
