To see our city transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. City Church is a casual, contemporary place where people of all backgrounds can feel welcome.

You don't have to be any particular age and we don't care who you voted for in the last election. City Church is a place where God meets people wherever they are on their spiritual journey. You can be far from God, trying to figure it out, or looking to grow deeper. Come and take your next step at City Church.

In Part 3 of our Unhidden series, Pastor Rachel walked us through John 8 and the woman caught in adultery, a woman history remembers only by the worst thing she ever did. That is exactly what shame does. It takes a chapter of our story and convinces us it is the whole thing. Shame doesn’t always lie about what happened. It takes something true and uses it to tell us something false about who we are. But Jesus refused to let her sin become the final truth about her. He told her the truth without condemning her, and he gave her a future. Shame is not qualified to narrate a life that belongs to Jesus.

In Part 2 of our Unhidden series, Pastor Matt picked up in Genesis 3, where God walks into the garden and asks, “Where are you?” God wasn’t looking for coordinates. It was an invitation. The first question God asks in scripture is relational, and it’s asked of someone who is hiding. Shame didn’t change God. It changed how Adam saw him. And when Jesus calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, he is inviting us to stop keeping locked rooms. Shame says if you knew this about me, you would move away. The gospel says God already knows everything about you and moves toward you anyway.

In Part 1 of our new series Unhidden, Pastor Matt took us to Genesis 2 and the picture of Adam and Eve naked and unashamed. That verse has nothing to do with clothing and everything to do with the condition of the soul. They were fully known, fully exposed, and fully loved. Then sin entered, and the first recorded consequence was not punishment. It was shame. We all have our fig leaves, the things we use to manage how much of the real us anyone gets to see. But hiding only gives shame more power. We were designed for connection, and healing comes when we step out of the shadows. Shame says if I am fully known, I cannot be fully loved. The gospel says in Christ you are already fully known, and he still moves toward you.

In Part 6 of In Tulsa As It Is in Heaven, Pastor Matt closed the series with a call to contend for God's kingdom through prayer and obedience. We were reminded that we do not fight for victory, but from the victory Christ has already won, trusting God to bring freedom, healing, and restoration in our lives, families, and city.
